Elinor "Ellie" Miller Greenberg (November 13, 1932 – September 15, 2021) was an American author educationalist and speech pathologist, an expert in the field of adult education and experiential learning, as well as a former civil rights activist. She saw access to education as a social justice issue, and spent over thirty years creating higher education programs for non-traditional students. She headed the University Without Walls program in the 1970s; created a weekend Bachelor of Science in Nursing, BSN program for nurses in rural Colorado; established a degree program for Colorado prison inmates and ex-offenders; and established online master's degree programs for nurses in the 1990s. Eliezer Greenberg (December 13, 1896 – June 2, 1977) was a Bessarabian-born Jewish-American Yiddish poet and literary critic. Life Greenberg was born on December 13, 1896 in Lipcani, Russian Empire, the son of Ezekiel Greenberg and Ethel Haselov. Greenberg attended a religious primary school and studied under Haskalah follower Itsik Shkolnik. He also studied secular subjects. His teachers included townsmen and writers Eliezer Steinbarg, Jacob Sternberg, and Moyshe Altman. He immigrated to America in 1913, initially living in Boston then in Brockton. He worked in a leather workshop at that time. In 1921, he began studying in the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and worked as a teacher in Jewish schools. He settled in New York City in 1927.
