White Africans of European ancestry refers to people in Africa who can trace full or partial ancestry to Europe. In 1989, there were an estimated 4.6 million white people with European ancestry on the African continent. Most are of Dutch people, Dutch, Portuguese people, Portuguese, British people, British, Germans, German and French people, French origin; and to a lesser extent there are also those who descended from Italians, Spanish people, Spaniards, Greeks, and Scandinavians. The majority once lived along the Mediterranean Sea, Mediterranean coast or in Southern Africa.
