Greece Men's National Basketball Team
The Greece men's national basketball team ( el, Eθνική Oμάδα Καλαθοσφαίρισης Ελλάδος) represents Greece in international basketball. They are controlled by the Hellenic Basketball Federation, the governing body for basketball in Greece. Greece is currently ranked ninth in the FIBA World Rankings. Greece appeared eight times at the FIBA World Cup, their best performance coming in 2006 FIBA World Championship, 2006 as runners-up, after beating the United States men's national basketball team, United States 101–95 in the tournament's semi-final. Greece took part the in the EuroBasket 28 times, winning the tournament twice; while also coming away with one silver (EuroBasket 1989, 1989) as well as two bronze medals (EuroBasket 1949, 1949, EuroBasket 2009, 2009). Dimitris Itoudis
Dimitrios Itoudis (alternate spelling: Dimitris) ( gr, Δημήτριος Ιτούδης, born September 8, 1970) is a Greek professional basketball coach, who is the current head coach of Fenerbahçe Beko of the Turkish Basketball Super League and the EuroLeague. He also coaches the Greece men's national basketball team. Coaching career Itoudis began his coaching career in 1990, when he began coaching Zagreb's Under-18 team in Croatia. In 1992, he became an assistant coach with the senior men's team of Zagreb. In 1995, he became an assistant coach with the Greek Basket League club PAOK. He then became the head coach of PAOK in 1996. Germany Men's National Basketball Team
The Germany men's national basketball team (german: Deutsche Basketballnationalmannschaft or ''Die Mannschaft'') represents Germany in international basketball competition. The team is directed by the German Basketball Federation (''Deutscher Basketball Bund''), the governing body for basketball in Germany. Currently, Germany is ranked 8th in the FIBA World Rankings. Between 1949 and 1990, separate German national teams were recognised by FIBA due to Allied occupation. FIBA World Rankings
The FIBA Men's World Ranking are FIBA's rankings of national basketball teams. FIBA ranks both men's and women's national teams for both senior and junior competitions. It also publishes combined rankings for all mixed-sex competitions. Not included are the rankings for three-on-three competitions, which are tabulated for individual players. Calculation Only FIBA tournaments consisting of full five-a-side teams are used in calculations for the rankings. Other tournaments, such as regional championships, invitationals, three-on-three half-court basketball, and friendlies are not included.
