The Hellenic Olympic Committee (HOC) ( el, Ελληνική Ολυμπιακή Επιτροπή) is the governing Olympic body of Greece. Cross-country Skiing At The 2010 Winter Olympics – Women's 10 Kilometre Freestyle
The women's 10 kilometre freestyle cross-country skiing competition at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada was held on February 15 at Whistler Olympic Park in Whistler, British Columbia at 10:00 PST. Each skier starts at 30-second intervals, skiing the entire 10 kilometre course. Estonia's Kristina Šmigun-Vähi was the defending Olympic champion in this event though it was held in the classical style. Aino-Kaisa Saarinen on Finland was the defending world champion though that event was also held in the classical style. The final World Cup event in women's 10 km freestyle prior to the 2010 Games took place on February 5 at Canmore, Alberta and was won by Sweden's Charlotte Kalla. Maria Ntanou ( el, Μαρία Ντάνου; born 3 March 1990) is a Greek cross-country skier, Olympian who has competed since 2007. She was an Athlete Role Model of 2020 Winter Youth Olympics. Ntanou has represented her country, Greece, in three Winter Olympic Games, and she was the flag bearer at the Opening Ceremony of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games. Career Ntanou finished 72nd in the 10 km event at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. She took 76th place with +6:03.6 from the Norwegian Olympic Champion Ragnhild Haga at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, which is the best result for Greece in this discipline.
