''The 4 Corners Live'' is a live DVD by Australian-American rock musician, Diesel. It was released on 6 July 2009. The DVD was recorded on 24 and 25 October 2008, at The Palms at Crown, Melbourne. The content spanned Diesel's entire career up to and including tracks from his 2008 album, '' Days Like These''. An audio recording from the concerts was released as a live album on CD on 1 March 2010 as ''The 4 Corners Live''. It was re-released on 3 June 2011 as ''Greatest Hits Live''. Diesel (musician)
Mark Denis Lizotte (born 31 May 1966) is an American-born Australian singer-songwriter and musician, who has released material under the name Diesel, Johnny Diesel, as leader of band Johnny Diesel & the Injectors, and as a solo performer, as well as under his birth name. Two of his albums reached No. 1 on the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Albums Charts, '' Hepfidelity'' in 1992 and '' The Lobbyist'' in 1993. Since 1987, Lizotte, has played on several albums by his brother-in law, Australian rock singer, Jimmy Barnes. Although better known as a singer-songwriter and guitarist, Lizotte is also competent on bass guitar, drums, percussion and keyboards; and has also produced an album by Richard Clapton and one by Vika and Linda Bull. "Under the Influence" is the eleventh studio album by Australian musician, Diesel. The release came about following a string of live dates, in which Diesel performed tracks that had influenced his own material. The album follows the extended play.''7 Axes'' which was released in February 2011 and peaked at number 71. Both EP and album were recorded in ten days in June 2010. Reviews Pete Rivas from The Music gave the album 8 out of 10 saying "With this album, Diesel celebrates 25 years on the scene and he honors some of the key influences in his music, hence the title. Featuring 15 tracks in total, the album includes mostly covers, although these are well fused with 3 fantastic original Diesel instrumentals (Thang 4, Thang 5, Thang 6). Stand out cover tracks include The Sonics' “Have Love, Will Travel” which includes a cameo from Jimmy Barnes and my personal favorite, Neil Young's “Cinnamon Girl”. ''7 Axes'' is an extended play (EP) (or Mini-LP) by Australian singer songwriter Diesel. It was released in February 2011 and sees Diesel paying homage to the artists and musicians that have inspired him. The EP follows a national tour which Diesel completed in November 2010. Diesel toured this EP in March and April 2011. "Have Love, Will Travel" was released as the first and only single from the album on 4 January 2011. Background and recording "It all stemmed from my live shows" Diesel said. He was doing shows in Sydney and Melbourne and performing covers; "Liberation Records heard about it and said, 'you've got to make a record like that'. So we have!" Diesel and his band recorded 18 songs live in the studio in 8 days. 6 of these appear on the ''7 Axes'' EP. Blues is a music genre and musical form which originated in the Deep South of the United States around the 1860s.
