Great Falls Explorers
The Great Falls Explorers were a team in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) founded in 2006. The team played their home games at the Four Seasons Arena in Great Falls, Montana. The franchise was branded 'Explorers' in honor of Lewis and Clark traveled through the area. The Explorers, previously coached by Steve Aggers, was coached by Scott Wedman for the 2007–2008 season. The team's front office is led by General Manager Ryan Acra. History The Explorers were originally owned by Apex Sportstainment (present owners of the Butte Daredevils and Minot SkyRockets). The team's first coach, Steve Aggers, previously coached the College of Great Falls basketball program. Travis Garrison
Travis Sentel Garrison (born April 20, 1984) is an American former professional basketball player. High school career Garrison was born in Washington, D.C. to Lawrence and Sheila Garrison and grew up in Suitland, Maryland with his two older brothers. He enrolled at DeMatha Catholic High School where he was coached by Morgan Wootten: he was already part of the varsity team as a sophomore. As a junior he averaged 15 points, 9 rebounds and 3 blocks per game and for his senior year he was considered one of the top forwards of the class of 2002. Four Seasons Arena
The Four Seasons Arena is a multi-purpose indoor sports and exhibition arena located in the city of Great Falls, Montana, in the United States. Constructed in 1979, it served primarily as an ice rink until 2005. The failure of the practice rink's refrigeration system in 2003 and the management's decision to close the main rink in 2006 led to the facility's reconfiguration as an indoor sports and exhibition space. In November 2018, the Cascade County Commission, in conjunction with the Great Falls TIBD, and the Great Falls Lodging Association began to develop a plan to replace the arena. At a cost of 86 million dollars, the proposed arena will seat between 10,000 and 12,000 people. The bond is expected to go before voters in November 2019. The University of Providence (UP, formerly University of Great Falls) is a private Roman Catholic university in Great Falls, Montana. It is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. History The University of Providence was founded in 1932 as Great Falls Junior College for Women by Edwin Vincent O'Hara, the Catholic Bishop of Great Falls, in collaboration with the Sisters of Charity of Providence and the Ursuline Sisters.
