Death-doom
Death-doom is an extreme subgenre of heavy metal. It combines the slow tempos and pessimistic or depressive mood of doom metal with the deep growling vocals and double kick drumming of death metal. Saturnus are a Danish band formed in 1991. They play melodic death/doom with synthesized touches of gothic metal. History Saturnus released their third full-length album, ''Veronika Decides to Die'', in May 2006. The album title was inspired by Paulo Coelho's novel of the same name. History Formation and early years (1995–1997) Named after the resinous wood of the agarwood (Aquilaria agallocha), Agalloch began as the creation of Haughm and keyboardist Shane Breyer. In early 1996, the duo began composing material. Mandrake is a German gothic metal band from Emden, Ostfriesland, formed by Lutz de Putter in 1996. History Lutz de Putter founded Mandrake in 1996.
