Grantville is a middle-class neighborhood in the city of San Diego, in California, United States. It borders the communities of Allied Gardens, San Carlos, Tierrasanta and Mission Valley East. History Grantville is one of the oldest communities in San Diego and the State of California. The first European settlement in California was established in San Diego in 1769, in the area which is now Old Town San Diego State Historic Park. The mission itself, Mission San Diego de Alcalá, was moved in 1774 to what is now the Grantville area. The restored Mission is a major landmark and tourist destination in Grantville. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In the late 1800s the area became referred to as Grantville in honor of U. S. President Ulysses S. Grant. Mission Trails Regional Park
Mission Trails Regional Park is a open space preserve within the city of San Diego, California, established in 1974. It is the sixth-largest municipally owned park in the United States, and the largest in California. Description The park consists mostly of rugged canyons and hills, with both natural and developed recreation areas, including beautiful flowers. It is the seventh-largest open space urban park in the United States, consisting of nearly . The highest point is Cowles Mountain, which is also the highest point in the city of San Diego. Del Cerro (Spanish for "of the hill") is a hilly residential neighborhood of approximately 2,300 residents in the eastern part of San Diego, California.
