Grant Thomson
Grant Thomson (born 18 March 1988) is a South African first-class cricketer. He was included in the Easterns cricket team for the 2015 Africa T20 Cup. He was the leading run-scorer in the 2016–17 CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge, with a total of 472 in ten matches. In August 2017, he was named in the Nelson Mandela Bay Stars squad for the first season of the T20 Global League. However, in October 2017, Cricket South Africa initially postponed the tournament until November 2018, with it being cancelled soon after. In June 2018, he was named in the squad for the Titans team for the 2018–19 season. In September 2018, he was named in Easterns' squad for the 2018 Africa T20 Cup. He was the leading run-scorer for Easterns in the tournament, with 182 runs in five matches. Kempton Park, Gauteng
Kempton Park is a city in the East Rand region of Gauteng province, South Africa. It is part of the City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality. It is situated south of Tembisa, one of the largest townships in South Africa, which is also part of Ekurhuleni. South Africa's busiest airport, O. R. Tambo International Airport is located in Kempton Park. The name of the city is sometimes written as "Kemptonpark" in Afrikaans. Nelson Mandela Bay Giants
Nelson Mandela Bay Giants were a franchise team of the South African Mzansi Super League Twenty20 cricket tournament. The team were based at the St George's Park Cricket Ground in Port Elizabeth. Nelson Mandela Bay Giants played in the first two editions of the MLS in 2018 and 2019, before COVID-19 delayed the competition in 2020. The side was dissolved in 2021 in response to the reform of the domestic structure of South African cricket. Paarl (; Afrikaans: ; derived from ''Parel'', meaning "pearl" in Dutch) is a town with 112,045 inhabitants in the Western Cape province of South Africa. Easterns (cricket Team)
Easterns (formerly Eastern Transvaal) has played first-class cricket in South Africa since October 1991, and List A cricket since October 1989. For the purposes of the SuperSport Series, Easterns has merged with Northerns (formerly Northern Transvaal) to form the Titans. Eastern Transvaal was spun off from Northern Transvaal at a meeting in Actonville, Benoni. Easterns was called Eastern Transvaal from October 1989 until February 1995, changing its name after the Transvaal became Gauteng and a new province called ''Eastern Transvaal'' (later Mpumalanga) was formed that excluded East Rand territories that were part of the Eastern Transvaal cricket team. 2019–20 CSA Provincial T20 Cup
The 2019–20 CSA Provincial T20 Cup was a domestic Twenty cricket tournament that took place in South Africa in September 2019, as a curtain-raiser to the 2019–20 South African domestic season. It was played between the thirteen South African provincial teams, along with Limpopo and Mpumalanga. This was the sixth edition of the CSA Provincial T20 Cup, which was last played in the 2015–16 season. With only domestic teams from South Africa taking part, the tournament returned in place of the Africa T20 Cup, which had been held since 2015. On the opening day of matches, Jonathan Vandiar scored an unbeaten century for Northerns against Gauteng in Pool A. 2019 Mzansi Super League
The 2019 Mzansi Super League, also known as the MSL 2.0, was the second edition of the Mzansi Super League (MSL) Twenty20 (T20) franchise cricket tournament in South Africa. It started on 8 November and ended on 16 December 2019. Jozi Stars were the defending champions, having won the inaugural 2018 tournament. Squads On 7 August 2019, Cricket South Africa announced that more than 250 cricketers had registered for the tournament's draft. Each of the six franchise teams also named the players they had retained for this years' edition. The following day the marquee players were announced. The full squads were confirmed on 3 September 2019.
