Grant Munro (footballer)
Grant Munro (born 15 September 1980 in Inverness, Scotland) is a Scottish former footballer. He was, most recently, with Rothes in the Highland Football League. Career On 9 February 2008, Munro scored the 1000th goal in the history of Inverness Caledonian Thistle, in a 1-1 draw against St Mirren. In October 2008, Munro signed a new contract with the Caley Jags to keep him at the club until 2011. In May 2011 it was announced by the club that Munro would not receive a new contract. Despite this he went on to score for Inverness in their 3-2 win over Celtic on 4 May to dent their title hopes. It was announced on Tuesday 24 May 2011 that Munro has signed a 2-year pre-contract deal with Ross County. Manager Derek Adams said "I am delighted to have signed Grant. His experience on the pitch will be vital in the season ahead. He has been a consistent performer over many years and will add further quality to our squad." Grant Munro LL. D. (April 25, 1923 – December 9, 2017) was a Canadian animator, filmmaker and actor. In 1952, he starred with Jean-Paul Ladouceur in Norman McLaren's ''Neighbours''. He worked on the films ''Two Bagatelles'' (1953), ''Seven Surprizes'' (1963), ''Christmas Cracker'' (1963) and ''Canon'' (1964). His film, ''Christmas Cracker'', was nominated for an Academy Award in 1962. Early life Munro was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He had a sister, Gail, and a brother, Brian. Munro was educated at the Robert H. Smith school, Queenston school, and Gordon Bell High, before attending the Musgrove School of Art and the Winnipeg School of Art. Earning an honor diploma from the Ontario College of Art in 1944, he then joined the National Film Board, Canada's public film producer and distributor. Career Munro's work as an animator first won note during 1945, setting the songs "My Darling Clementine" and "The Daring Young Man on the Flying Trapeze" to animated cut-outs. In 1952 ... Grant Munro (ice Hockey)
Warren Grant Munro (August 7, 1936 – December 30, 2019) was a Canadian ice hockey defenseman who was an All-American for Denver and helped the team win consecutive national championships in the early-1960s. Career Munro grew up in Regina and played for his home town junior team, the Regina Pats. He helped the club win consecutive Abbott Cups in 1955 and 1956. In 1957, he followed his former junior coach Murray Armstrong to the University of Denver and began playing for the Pioneers. He joined the varsity squad in 1958. Munro helped the team win championships in 1960 and 1961 and was an All-American in his senior season. In the 1961 championship, he recorded four points in Denver's 12–2 win, setting a record for defensemen in a title match. Munro earned a bachelor's degree in accounting. Career After graduating from college, Munro briefly played professional hockey for the Omaha Knights/Toledo Mercurys in the International Hockey League, but retired after the 1962 season ...
