Grant Mitchell (actor)
John Grant Mitchell Jr. (June 17, 1874 – May 1, 1957) was an American actor. He appeared on Broadway from 1902 to 1939 and appeared in more than 125 films between 1930 and 1948. Early years Mitchell was born John Grant Mitchell Jr. on June 17, 1874, in Columbus, Ohio, the only son of American Civil War general John G. Mitchell. His paternal grandmother, Fanny Arabella Hayes, was the sister of President Rutherford B. Hayes. He attended Yale University, where he served as feature editor of campus humor magazine ''The Yale Record''. Like his father, he became an attorney, graduating from the Harvard Law School. However, by his mid-to-late 20s, he tired of his legal practice and turned a long term dream into a reality by becoming an actor on Broadway. Grant Mitchell (politician)
Grant Mitchell (born July 19, 1951) is a Canadian politician and businessman. Over his career, he was leader of the Alberta Liberal Party and a member of the Senate of Canada. Education He received a BA degree from the University of Alberta and an MA degree from Queen's University. Career From 1976 to 1979, he worked as a public servant with the Government of Alberta. From 1979 to 1986, he worked in the financial sector as an executive with Edmonton's Principal Group. From 1998 to 2005, while out of politics, Mitchell joined CIBC Wood Gundy as an investment advisor. He has also served on the boards of the Canadian Commercial Corporation, the Edmonton ITU World Cup Triathlon and the Edmonton Police Foundation. Grant Mitchell (EastEnders)
Grant Mitchell is a fictional character from the British soap opera '' EastEnders'', played by Ross Kemp. He was introduced by producer Michael Ferguson to revamp the show, and originally served as one of the show's leading protagonists throughout the 1990s; with the character first appearing in 22 February 1990 and then departing on 25 October 1999 after Kemp had opted to leave the show. He then returned to the show on 24 October 2005 for a few weeks and returned again between March and June 2006. Kemp was persuaded to return to the role for brief stints during a period of heavy media criticism aimed at ''EastEnders''. The return proved to be a ratings success. Kemp reprised the role of Grant for various guest stints in 2016, appearing in twelve episodes between 13 May and 9 September. An archived recording of his voice was heard on 25 January 2022.
