Grandview Cemetery, Fort Collins
Grandview Cemetery is a cemetery in Fort Collins, Larimer County, Colorado. The land for the cemetery was purchased in 1887; at the time it was west of the city limits of Fort Collins. Mountain Home Cemetery had been used prior to this, but it was closer to town, and with the population of Fort Collins rapidly expanding it was deemed necessary to find another location farther from town. The remains buried at Mountain Home were gradually transferred to Grandview beginning in late 1887 or early 1888 and by the 1920s the site of the former cemetery at Mountain Home had been converted to a playground. Larimer County is a county located in the U.S. state of Colorado. As of the 2020 census, the population was 359,066. The county seat and most populous city is Fort Collins. Jean Paulette Bethke Elshtain (1941–2013) was an American ethicist, political philosopher, and public intellectual. She was the Laura Spelman Rockefeller Professor of Social and Political Ethics in the University of Chicago Divinity School with a joint appointment in the department of political science.
