Grand Prix Of Atlanta
The Grand Prix of Atlanta is a sports car race held at Road Atlanta in Braselton, Georgia. The first running was held in 1973, as part of the IMSA GT Championship. The race was held annually from 1973 until 1999, with separate spring and fall races held from 1976–1982. With the rise of the Petit Le Mans as Road Atlanta's marquee sports car event, the Grand Prix was held only sporadically in the American Le Mans Series era. In 1993 only, the event was held on the combined road course at Atlanta Motor Speedway as Road Atlanta was going through a bankruptcy and sale. In 2020 due to New York state restrictions for crowds because of COVID-19, the 6 Hours of Watkins Glen was moved to Road Atlanta. Holbert Racing
Alvah Robert "Al" Holbert (November 11, 1946 – September 30, 1988) was an American automobile racing driver who was a five-time champion of the IMSA Camel GT series. He once held the record with the most IMSA race wins at 49. Life and career Holbert was born in Abington, Pennsylvania. He was the son of racecar driver Bob Holbert, who also ran a Volkswagen-Porsche dealership in Warrington, PA, near Philadelphia (one of the first Porsche dealerships in the USA). Holbert worked for Roger Penske while studying at Lehigh University, where he graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 1968. Holbert began racing Porsches in the northeast division of the SCCA, racing a C-production Porsche 914/6 against, among others, Bob Tullius (Triumph TR6) and Bob Sharp (Datsun 240Z). BMW 3 Series (E21)
The BMW E21 is the first generation of the BMW 3 Series compact executive cars, which were produced from June 1975 to 1983 and replaced the BMW 02 Series. The series was exclusively built in a two-door sedan body style (except for convertibles made by Baur). Contrary to its predecessor, a 'Touring' body with a sloped rear hatch was no longer offered. Initial models were produced with carburetted four-cylinder petrol engines of 1.6 L, 1.8 L, and 2.0 L. Fuel-injection was introduced in late 1975 on the 320i – but in 1977, a carburetted inline 6-cylinder engine replaced both the 320 and 320i models, while a detuned version of the four-cylinder injection went on sale in the United States. David Wishart Hobbs (born 9 June 1939) is a British former racing driver. He worked as a commentator from the mid 1970s for CBS until 1996, Speed from 1996 to 2012 and NBC from 2013 to 2017.
