Graham Rathbone
Graham Rathbone (22 August 1942 – 8 January 2012) was a Welsh people, Welsh professional footballer. Rathbone was born in Newport, Wales, Newport, Monmouthshire (historic), Monmouthshire. A centre-half, he began his career with Merthyr Tydfil F.C., Merthyr Tydfil. In 1960, he joined Newport County A.F.C., Newport County and made 191 appearances for the club, scoring 7 goals. In 1966 manager Jimmy McGuigan signed him at Grimsby Town F.C., Grimsby Town for a £10,000 fee where he made 233 appearances before moving to Cambridge United F.C., Cambridge United and Kettering Town F.C., Kettering Town. The Football League Fourth Division was the fourth-highest division in the English football league system from the 1958–59 season until the creation of the Premier League prior to the 1992–93 season. Whilst the division disappeared in name in 1992, the 4th tier of English football continued as the Football League Third Division, and later became known as Football League Two. Jimmy McGuigan
James McGuigan (1 March 1924 – 30 March 1988) was a Scottish professional football player and manager. Career Playing career McGuigan, who played as a wing half, played junior football with Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic, before turning professional in 1946 with Hamilton Academical. After just one season in the Scottish Football League, McGuigan moved to England, playing in the Football League for Sunderland, Stockport County, Crewe Alexandra and Rochdale. McGuigan made a total of 334 League appearances between 1946 and 1959, scoring 48 goals. Coaching career After retiring as a player in 1959, McGuigan became a coach at former club Crewe Alexandra, before becoming manager in March 1960.
