Grade 2 (band)
Grade 2 is an English band from Ryde on the Isle of Wight. Their music is described as a classic punk sound, and features lyrics about everyday problems. Louder Than War described their album Graveyard Island as "''Upbeat stripped back punk’n’roll with a bit of yobbo thrown in.''". History Formation and early history The band was formed in May 2013, initially playing covers from the punk era by The Stranglers and The Jam, as well as Oi! music by Booze and Glory and Lion’s Law. They began to write original songs and performed regularly in local pubs and clubs, and gained exposure by successfully supporting established bands. Contra Records From November 2013 until 2018 the band was signed to German record label Contra Records. Hellcat Records In 2018 Grade 2 signed with US-based Hellcat Records. Ryde
Ryde is an English seaside town and civil parish on the north-east coast of the Isle of Wight. The built-up area had a population of 23,999 according to the 2011 Census and an estimate of 24,847 in 2019. Its growth as a seaside resort came after the villages of Upper Ryde and Lower Ryde were merged in the 19th century, as can still be seen in the town's central and seafront architecture. The resort's expansive sands are revealed at low tide. Their width means the regular ferry service to the mainland requires a long listed pier – the fourth longest in the United Kingdom, and the oldest surviving. History In 1782 numerous bodies of men, women and children from HMS ''Royal George'', which sank suddenly at Spithead, were washed ashore at Ryde. Dropkick Murphys
Dropkick Murphys are an American Celtic punk band formed in Quincy, Massachusetts in 1996. Singer and bassist Ken Casey has been the band's only constant member. Other current members include drummer Matt Kelly (1997– ), singer Al Barr (1998– ), guitarist James Lynch (2000– ), multi-instrumentalist Tim Brennan (2003– ) and multi-instrumentalist Jeff DaRosa (2007– ). The band was initially signed to independent punk record label Hellcat Records, releasing five albums for the label, and building a reputation locally through constant touring and yearly St. Patrick's Day week shows, held in and around Boston. The Interrupters are an American ska punk band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 2011. The band comprises lead vocalist Aimee Interrupter, drummer Jesse Bivona, bassist Justin Bivona, and guitarist Kevin Bivona. They have released four studio albums. The latest, ''In the Wild'', was released in 2022, along with the album's lead single, "Raised by Wolves".
