Annie Ryder Gracey
Annie Ryder Gracey (, Ryder; pen name, Mrs. J. T. Gracey; November 4, 1836 - February 17, 1908) was an American author and missionary of the long nineteenth century. She wrote two books based on her travels, ''Eminent Missionary Women'' and ''Woman's Medical Work in Mission Fields''. The history of the literature produced by the Woman's Foreign Missionary Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church was closely linked with Gracey, who served as chairman of the committee on literature, and created missionary literature for the Society. Early life and education Annie Ryder was born in Christiana, Delaware, November 4, 1836. She attended the Wilmington Female College, from which she graduated at the age of sixteen. Career Missionary For four years, she taught in her alma mater school. On March 10, 1858, at the age of 22, she married Rev. John Talbot Gracey. General Sir Douglas David Gracey & Bar (3 September 1894 – 5 June 1964) was a British Indian Army officer who fought in both the First and Second World Wars. He also fought in French Indochina and was the second Commander-in-Chief of the Pakistan Army. Gracey held this latter office from 11 February 1948 until his retirement on 16 January 1951. Born to English parents living in India, he was educated in English schools before returning to India to serve in the military there. Early life and military career Educated at Blundell's School and the Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Gracey was commissioned onto the Unattached List, Indian Army on 15 August 1914 as a second lieutenant. Yale Gracey (September 3, 1910 – September 5, 1983) was a Disney Imagineer, writer, and layout artist for many Disney animated shorts, including classics such as ''The Three Caballeros'' and '' Fantasia''. Gracey joined the company in 1939 as a layout artist for ''Pinocchio''. In the 1960s, he designed many of the special effects for the Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion attractions at Disneyland Disneyland is a theme park in Anaheim, California. Opened in 1955, it was the first theme park opened by The Walt Disney Company and the only one designed and constructed under the direct supervision of Walt Disney. Disney initially envision ....
