Grace Wynne-Jones
Grace Wynne-Jones is an Irish journalist and writer. Life and career Grace Wynne-Jones was born in Ireland to Joan de Vere (1913-1989) of Curraghchase in County Limerick home of poet Aubrey Thomas de Vere. She grew up in Ireland but also lived in the US, Africa, and the UK. Wynne-Jones has been published by magazines and newspapers in Ireland, Australia and the UK. She wrote a radio play ''Ebb Tide'' which was broadcast by the national broadcaster RTÉ. Curraghchase Forest Park
Curraghchase is a forest park located in County Limerick. It is 20 km from the city of Limerick, between the towns of Adare and Askeaton. The land was the Hunt/de Vere family estate for 300 years (1657–1957), including the period of the de Vere baronets, also serving as the home of renowned poet and critic Aubrey Thomas De Vere. Archaeology In the park area there are 8 classified sites; 1 cairn, 2 enclosures, 3 ringforts, 1 Menhir, standing stone and the 18th century house probably built on the site of Curragh Castle which is mentioned in Desmond Roll. Environment The park consists of mainly broadleaf and mixed woodland with some mature conifer stands, parkland with some of the area under water. The woods occur on low limestone ridges. Aubrey Thomas De Vere
Aubrey Thomas de Vere (10 January 181420 January 1902) was an Irish poet and critic. Life Aubrey Thomas Hunt de Vere was born at Curraghchase House (now in ruins) at Curraghchase, Kilcornan, County Limerick, the third son of Sir Aubrey de Vere, 2nd Baronet (1788–1846) and his wife Mary Spring Rice, daughter of Stephen Edward Rice (d.1831) and Catherine Spring, of Mount Trenchard, Co. Limerick. He was a nephew of Lord Monteagle, a younger brother of Sir Stephen de Vere, 4th Baronet and a cousin of Lucy Knox. His sister Ellen married Robert O'Brien, the brother of William Smith O'Brien. In 1832, his father dropped the original surname 'Hunt' by royal licence, assuming the surname 'de Vere'. He was strongly influenced by his friendship with the astronomer Sir William Rowan Hamilton, through whom he came to a knowledge and reverent admiration for Wordsworth and Coleridge.
