Grace Steinmetz
Grace Steinmetz (born 16 January 1998) is a New Zealand rugby union player. She made her test debut for the Black Ferns in 2022. She plays for Chiefs Manawa in the Super Rugby Aupiki competition, she previously played for Matatū. She also represents Canterbury provincially. Personal life Steinmetz was born in Paraparaumu. She participated in hockey, athletics and touch rugby before she moved into Sevens rugby. She is the niece of 2002 All Blacks second five Paul Steinmetz. Steinmetz is a Lawyer and studied Law and Commerce at the University of Canterbury. Rugby career 2018–20 Steinmetz played sevens for Wellington and was in Japan on a sevens contract in 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic forced her to return to New Zealand. Paraparaumu
Paraparaumu () is a town in the south-western North Island of New Zealand. It lies on the Kapiti Coast, north of the nation's capital city, Wellington. 2024 Super Rugby Aupiki Season
The 2024 Super Rugby Aupiki season will be the third season of Super Rugby Aupiki. The competition is expected to run from 2 March 2024 to 13 April 2024. Chiefs Manawa and Hurricanes Poua will kick off the season at the FMG Stadium Waikato in Hamilton. Competition format The competition will begin with a four-week pre-season that will feature two matches. The season is then expected to officially start on 2 March with six weeks of round robin matches before the final is contested between the top two teams. There will be a mix of standalone fixtures and double-headers with their Super Rugby Pacific counterparts. 2022 Laurie O'Reilly Cup
The 2022 Laurie O'Reilly Cup was the 13th edition of the competition. The matches were played on 20 and 27 of August, with both Australia and New Zealand hosting one match each. After a two year absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was confirmed that the competition would return. The first test was played in Christchurch at the Orangetheory Stadium on 20 August 2022. The second test was played in a curtain raiser to the Wallabies and Springboks test in Adelaide on 27 August 2022. The Black Ferns won the first test in Christchurch with an overwhelming 52–5 score and retained the O'Reilly Cup. Australia Women's National Rugby Union Team
The Australia women's national rugby union team, also known as the Wallaroos, has competed at all Women's Rugby World Cups since 1998, with their best result finishing in third place in 2010. Australian women have been playing rugby since the late 1930s, in regional areas of New South Wales. In 1992 the first National Women's Tournament was held in Newcastle, NSW. The following year the Australian Women's Rugby Union was established, and it was declared that the national women's team would be called the Wallaroos. 2022 Pacific Four Series
The 2022 Pacific Four Series was the second edition of the Pacific Four Series. The competition was hosted by New Zealand from 6 to 18 June. Matches were played at two of the venues which will host the delayed 2021 Rugby World Cup – The Trusts Arena in West Auckland and the Semenoff Stadium in Whangārei. New Zealand Barbarians
The New Zealand Barbarians, nicknamed the "Baa-Baas", are an invitational rugby union team. They have been a part of New Zealand rugby since the team was founded in 1937 by two ex-All Blacks, Ronald Bush and Hubert McLean, who captained their first game (against Auckland) in 1938. Farah Palmer Cup
The Farah Palmer Cup (formerly known as Women's Provincial Championship until 2016), is the highest level domestic women's rugby union competition in New Zealand and is named after the former Black Ferns captain, Farah Palmer. This contest is held annually from late August to early November and managed by the New Zealand Rugby Union, or NZRU. The competition was first introduced in 1999, with a total of fourteen teams competing initially. The number of teams increased to eighteen in the year 2000, but has decreased to as few as six teams, with 13 currently featured. Canterbury are the current holders of the JJ Stewart Trophy, the women's equivalent of the Ranfurly Shield. The Farah Palmer Cup is an amateur competition; players are not paid salaries and hold jobs outside of rugby. New Zealand Women's National Rugby Sevens Team
The New Zealand women's national rugby sevens team represents New Zealand in the World Rugby Sevens Series, Rugby World Cup Sevens, Summer Olympic Games and the Commonwealth Games. The team has participated in all rounds of the World Rugby Women's Sevens Series since the competition's inception in 2012–13. New Zealand competed at the 2009 Rugby World Cup Sevens in Dubai.
