Grace Kaudha
Grace Kaudha, also known as Grace Hailat Kaudha Magumba, (14 October 1986-1 July 2017) was a Ugandan politician and a legislator who was the Women's Representative for Iganga district in the 10th parliament of Uganda in 2016. She was affiliated with the National Resistance Movement. She died at Mulago National Referral Hospital from pregnancy complications. Career She was the Women's Representative of Iganga district who replaced Kabaale Kwagala Olivia, and she served on the Committee on Rules, Discipline and Privileges and the Committee on Gender, Labour and Social Development. Personal life She was a wife to Ibrahim Tooto and a mother to one child. Death When Kauda went into labor, she sought medical attention at a private hospital. However, the hospital's only doctor was not available to see her, and she was forced to go to a different hospital, also under-staffed. Iganga District
Iganga District is a district in the Eastern Region of Uganda. The town of Iganga is the site of the district headquarters. Location Iganga District is bordered by Kaliro District to the north, Namutumba District to the northeast, Bugweri District to the east, Mayuge District to the south, Jinja District to the southwest, and Luuka District to the west. The district headquarters at Iganga are located approximately , by road, northeast of Jinja, the largest city in the Busoga sub-region. National Resistance Movement
The National Resistance Movement ( sw, Harakati za Upinzani za Kitaifa; abbr. NRM) has been the ruling party in Uganda since 1986. History The National Resistance Movement (NRM) was founded as a liberation movement that waged a guerrilla war through its rebel wing National Resistance Army (NRA) that toppled the government in 1986. According to the National Resistance Movement, it restored political stability, security, law and order, constitutionalism and the rule of law to Uganda. Mulago National Specialised Hospital, also known as Mulago National Referral Hospital, is a component of Mulago Hospital Complex, the teaching facility of Makerere University College of Health Sciences. Pre-eclampsia
Pre-eclampsia is a disorder of pregnancy characterized by the onset of high blood pressure and often a significant amount of protein in the urine. When it arises, the condition begins after 20 weeks of pregnancy. In severe cases of the disease there may be red blood cell breakdown, a low blood platelet count, impaired liver function, kidney dysfunction, swelling, shortness of breath due to fluid in the lungs, or visual disturbances. Pre-eclampsia increases the risk of undesirable outcomes for both the mother and the fetus. If left untreated, it may result in seizures at which point it is known as eclampsia. Risk factors for pre-eclampsia include obesity, prior hypertension, older age, and diabetes mellitus. It is also more frequent in a woman's first pregnancy and if she is carrying twins. The parliament of Uganda is the country's legislative body. Unicameral, the most significant of the Ugandan parliament's functions is to pass laws that will provide good governance in the country.
