Grace Chiumia
Grace Chiumia, is a Malawian politician who has served as Minister of Civic education in the Cabinet of Malawi, Malawian cabinet, since 24 October 2017. Before her current appointment, she was the Interior ministry, Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security, in the Malawian Cabinet, from 6 September 2016 until 24 October 2017. Career Chiuma is a medical nurse and malaria coordinator from Mzuzu. She was elected to the National Assembly (Malawi), National Assembly to represent the Nkhata Bay West district at the 2009 Malawian general election, May 2009 election. She was given the nickname "Obama" in 2008 by the people of her constituency as the first woman to run to represent them. She successfully ran against eight men. In 2010, Chiumia attended Voluntary Service Overseas's MP training in Pretoria to assist parliamentarians to be more articulate on issues around HIV and AIDS policy implementation. Malawi (; or aláwi Tumbuka: ''Malaŵi''), officially the Republic of Malawi, is a landlocked country in Southeastern Africa that was formerly known as Nyasaland. It is bordered by Zambia to the west, Tanzania to the north and northeast, and Mozambique to the east, south and southwest. Democratic Progressive Party (Malawi)
The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is a political party in Malawi. The party was formed in February 2005 by Malawian President Bingu wa Mutharika after a dispute with the United Democratic Front (UDF), which was led by his predecessor, Bakili Muluzi. History The DPP party is an offshoot of the United Democratic Front. The UDF was formed by Bingu wa Mutharika and Bakili Muluzi and came to power in 1994 under Muluzi. After Muluzi's two terms were over, Mutharika succeeded him as head of the party and nation. However, Muluzi remained involved in running the party; therefore Mutharika formed his own party, the Democratic Progressive Party, in early 2005. Many UDF members defected to the new DPP party. Watertown is a city in, and the county seat of, Jefferson County, New York, United States. It is approximately south of the Thousand Islands, along the Black River about east of where it flows into Lake Ontario.
