Govinda Jaya Jaya
"Govinda Jaya Jaya" is an Indian devotional chant or song. It is often sung in the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, Krishna Consciousness movement founded by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, and by various other schools of yoga, and by Hindus in general. Prabhupada's devotees Radha Krishna Temple (London) recorded the chant as "Govinda Jai Jai" for their The Radha Krsna Temple (album), eponymous album, produced by George Harrison and released on the Beatles' Apple Records, Apple record label in 1971. The recording was first issued as the B-side of the devotees' 1970 single "Govinda (Radha Krishna Temple song), Govinda". In 1996, the English rock band Kula Shaker adapted "Govinda Jaya Jaya" into their hit song "Govinda (Kula Shaker song), Govinda". Their song remains the only British top-ten hit sung entirely in Sanskrit. International Society For Krishna Consciousness
The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), known Colloquialism, colloquially as the Hare Krishna movement or Hare Krishnas, is a Gaudiya Vaishnavism, Gaudiya Vaishnava Hinduism, Hindu religious organization. ISKCON was founded in 1966 in New York City by A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. Gopala Krishna ( sa, गोपालकृष्ण, translit=Gopālakṛṣṇa, lit=cow-protector Krishna) refers to a form of the Hinduism, Hindu deity Krishna, as featured in the Harivamsa, Harivamsha and the Puranas. The narratives of Gopala Krishna are set in the cowherd settlement of the Braj, Vraja region called Gokul, Gokulam, where he is raised by his foster-parents, Nanda (Hinduism), Nanda and Yashoda. Donna De Lory is an American singer, dancer and songwriter. Part of a musical family, De Lory has been performing since a young age. Her voice can be heard on albums by Carly Simon, Ray Parker Jr., Kim Carnes, Santana, Martika, Laura Branigan, Belinda Carlisle, Selena, Bette Midler, Barry Manilow, Mylène Farmer, Alisha and Madonna. Jai Uttal (born June 12, 1951) is an American musician. He is a Grammy-nominated singer and “a pioneer in the world music community with his eclectic East-meets-West sound.” Biography Uttal grew up in New York City and lived in a home filled with music where he studied classical piano from the age of seven, and later learned to play banjo, harmonica, and guitar. His father was record label executive Larry Uttal. Vishnujana Swami
Vishnujana Swami (; June 2, 1948 - March 16, 1976), born Mark Stephen D'Atillo, was a disciple of A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, and a sannyasi within the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (commonly known as the 'Hare Krishnas' or ISKCON) who disappeared in 1976. He made recordings of himself singing the Hare Krishna mantra. Hari
Hari ( sa, हरि) is among the primary epithets of the Hindu preserver deity Vishnu, meaning 'the one who takes away' (sins). It refers to the one who removes darkness and illusion, the one who removes all obstacles to spiritual progress. In the ''Rigveda’s'' Purusha Sukta (praise of the supreme cosmic being), Hari is the first and most important name of the supreme Divine Being (whose Sanskrit cognate is Brahman). The second and alternative name of the supreme being is Narayana according to Narayana sukta of the ''Yajurveda''.
