Govind Guru Tribal University
Govind Guru Tribal University (GGTU), formerly Rajiv Gandhi Tribal University. is a state university located at Banswara, Rajasthan, India. It was established in 2012, and renamed in 2016. History It was established in 2012 by the Government of Rajasthan through the ''Rajiv Gandhi Tribal University, Udaipur Act, 2012'' and was to be named after the 6th Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi, and to be located in Udaipur. T.C. Damor was appointed the first Vice Chancellor (VC) of the university in July 2013. The university was run from a building within Mohanlal Sukhadia University with no regular faculty other than the VC. In 2016 it was renamed through the ''Rajiv Gandhi Tribal University, Udaipur (Change of Name and Headquarters, and Amendment) Act, 2016'', and its headquarters moved to Banswara. Pratapgarh district is the 33rd district of Rajasthan, created on 26 January 2008. It is a part of Udaipur Division and has been carved out from the erstwhile tehsils of Chittorgarh, Udaipur and Banswara districts. Dungarpur District
Dungarpur District is a district of the States and territories of India, state of Rajasthan in western India. The town of Dungarpur is the district headquarters. History The area of Dungarpur district was occupied by the Bhil people perhaps as early as 4000 BCE. There is second largest community of Patidar. It was invaded by Rajputs in the 12th century. Dungarpur State was founded in 1197 by Guljaram Punjabikir, a Rajput prince from Mewar, but Rajput control over the area took centuries. Banswara District
Banswara District has an area of , which is 1.47% of Rajasthan state, India. The city of Banswara is the district headquarters. It is bounded on the north by Udaipur District, on the northeast by Pratapgarh District, on the east and southeast by Madhya Pradesh state, on the southwest by Gujarat state, and on the west by Dungarpur District. History The district is named after the former Princely State of Banswara. There are two traditions regarding the etymology of Banswara. According to one tradition, it is derived from the name of the Bhil chief Bansia who ruled over this area before defeated by Maharaval Jagmal Singh in 1529 CE. Mohanlal Sukhadia University also called University of Udaipur is a public university in Udaipur city in the Indian state of Rajasthan.The earlier agricultural university was turned into a multi-faculty university in 1964 and named University of Udaipur. Banswara is a city in the Banswara district in southern Rajasthan, India. The name, Banswara, came from "Bans wala" (bamboo) forests, as Bamboo grew in abundance around this place within the area.
