Governor Of Anguilla
The Governor of Anguilla is the representative of the monarch in the British Overseas Territory of Anguilla. The Governor is appointed by the monarch on the advice of the British government. The Governor is the highest authority on Anguilla, but daily business is handled by local Anguillan elected officials. The main role of the Governor is to appoint the Premier of Anguilla. The Governor's official residence is Government House at Old Ta. The Governor has her own flag: the Union Flag defaced with the Coat of Arms of Anguilla. The current Governor is Dileeni Daniel-Selvaratnam, who was sworn in on 18 January 2021. Dileeni Daniel-Selvaratnam
Dileeni Daniel-Selvaratnam is a British lawyer and civil servant who has served as Governor of Anguilla since 18 January 2021. She is the second female holder of the position after Christina Scott. On 15 December 2022, the Foreign, Commonwealth, & Development Office announced that Daniel-Selvaratnam would be succeeding Nigel Dakin as Governor of the Turks and Caicos Islands, Governor of Turks and Caicos Islands, the Turks and Caicos Islands in June 2023. Civil service Daniel-Selvaratnam is of Sri Lankan Tamil diaspora, Sri Lankan Tamil descent. She was Call to the bar, called to the bar in 1999, and earned an LL.M. in Public International Law from the University of London in 2000. Tim Foy
Timothy John Foy is a former British civil servant and territorial governor. He served as Governor of Anguilla from August 2017 through December 2020. During his inaugural address, he stated that economic development and improving public safety would be his key priorities as governor. Prior to his governorship he served as a member of the UK Civil Service, holding positions in the Home Office, the Cabinet Office, and the Department for International Development (DFID). Christina Scott
Christina Martha Elena Scott (born 25 December 1974) is a British civil servant and diplomat. She served as Governor of Anguilla between 2013 and 2017, and was the first woman to hold the post. She has been Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy Beijing since September 2018. She was educated at Francis Holland School, Clarence Gate and Christ Church, Oxford. Alistair Harrison
William Alistair Harrison (born 14 November 1954) is His Majesty's Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps. He was previously Governor of Anguilla from 21 April 2009 to 23 July 2013. Early life Harrison was born on 14 November 1954 in Guisborough, North Yorkshire, in the United Kingdom. He studied at the Royal Grammar School, Newcastle. Andrew George (diplomat)
Andrew Neil George (born 9 October 1952) is a British diplomat. George served as the Governor and Commander-in-Chief of Anguilla from July 2006 to March 2009. Prior to becoming governor, he had a long career serving the Foreign and Commonwealth Office including postings in Australia, Paraguay, Thailand (where he met his wife) and Indonesia, where his posting ended early after the 2002 Bali bombings. Alan Huckle
Alan Edden Huckle (born 15 June 1948) is an English senior diplomat in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the British Government. He was the commissioner of the British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT) and the British Antarctic Territory from 23 April 2001 until 12 January 2004, when he left to become the governor of Anguilla in the Caribbean. He was the Governor of Anguilla from 29 July 2004 to July 2006, having been appointed in July 2003. In July 2005 it was announced that Huckle would soon be leaving Anguilla to become Governor of the British Overseas Territory of the Falkland Islands and the Commissioner for South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, all of which are located in the South Atlantic Ocean.
