Gourgopal Ghosh was an Indian footballer playing for Mohun Bagan club of Kolkata. He also served as a member of managing committee of central co-operative bank of Visva-Bharati since its establishment in 1927. He also worked at Silpa-Sadan for some time. Thus he played an important role in the development of Visva-Bharati. Mohun Bagan
Mohun Bagan Athletic Club is an Indian professional sports club based in Kolkata, West Bengal. Founded in 1889, its football section is one of the oldest in India and Asia. The club is most notable for its victory over East Yorkshire Regiment in the 1911 IFA Shield final. Visva-Bharati () is a public central university and an Institution of National Importance located in Shantiniketan, West Bengal, India. It was founded by Rabindranath Tagore who called it ''Visva-Bharati'', which means the communion of the world with India. Until independence it was a college.
