Jiro Taniguchi
was a Japanese manga writer/artist. His works belong to the gekiga, or "dramatic pictures", genre of manga. In France he was knighted a Chevalier of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 2011. Career Taniguchi began his career as an assistant of manga artist Kyuuta Ishikawa. He made his manga debut in 1970 with ''Kareta Heya'' (A Desiccated Summer), published in the magazine Young Comic. From 1978 to 1986, he created several hard-boiled comics with the scenarist Natsuo Sekigawa, such as ''City Without Defense'', ''The Wind of the West is White'' and ''Lindo 3''. Reideen The Superior
is a super robot anime series. Produced by Tohokushinsha, Asahi News Agency and Soeisha (later renamed as Sunrise), it aired on Nihon Educational Television (now TV Asahi) from 4 April 1975 to 26 March 1976, with a total of 50 episodes. ''Bamboo Blade'' (stylized as ''BAMBOO BLADE'') is a Japanese manga series written by Masahiro Totsuka and illustrated by Aguri Igarashi. Created by Aeon and Takara and animated by Brain's Base, the studio’s first television production, the series aired on TV Tokyo from April to December 2002. Infinite Ryvius
is a 26 episode drama/sci-fi series produced by Sunrise. The character and mecha designs in ''RYVIUS'' were created by Hisashi Hirai, who later went on to act as the character designer for '' Gundam SEED''. The series is also noted for its music, a blend of western R&B/hip-hop music with J-pop vocals. This is evident in the opening song, "dis–", performed by bilingual Japanese-American singer Mika Arisaka.
