Goring-by-Sea, commonly referred to simply as Goring, is a neighbourhood of Worthing and former civil parish, now in Worthing district in West Sussex, England. It lies west of West Worthing, about west of Worthing town centre. Historically in Sussex, in the rape of Arundel, Goring has been part of the borough of Worthing since 1929. Allan Gorringe
Allan Lindsay Gorringe (20 January 1884 – 22 November 1918) was an English cricketer. Gorringe's batting style is unknown. He was born at Eastbourne, Sussex. Gorringe made his first-class debut for Sussex against Middlesex. He made three further first-class appearances for Sussex in 1905, the last of which came against Lancashire. In his four first-class matches, he scored a total of 46 runs at an average of 7.66, with a high score of 16. He later played a single Minor Counties Championship match for Cambridgeshire against Norfolk at Fenner's in 1914. He died at Repton, Derbyshire on 22 November 1918. Daniel Gorringe (born 2 June 1992) is an Australian media personality and former professional Australian rules footballer who played for and . After being drafted from the Norwood Football Club, he made his Australian Football League debut for Gold Coast in 2011 and played 22 games in his five seasons with the Suns, before being delisted and subsequently signed by Carlton, where he played four games in 2016. Gorringe appeared in Seven Network, Channel 7's ''Big Brother (Australian season 12), Big Brother Australia 2020'' reboot where he placed second in the finale. Henry Honychurch Gorringe (August 11, 1841 – July 7, 1885) was a United States naval officer who attained national acclaim for successfully completing the removal of Cleopatra's Needle from Alexandria, Egypt to Central Park in New York City. Early life Henry Honychurch Gorringe was born in the British colony of Barbados on August 11, 1841. His father served as rector to St. Michael's Cathedral. Young Henry came to the United States at a young age, entering the merchant marine. During the Civil War, he enlisted in the Union Navy, entering on July 13, 1862, with the rank of Mate, serving in the Mississippi Squadron.
