Gordy Gurson
Gordy Gurson (born May 2, 1992, in Park Ridge, Illinois) is an American professional soccer player who currently plays for Utica City FC in the Major Arena Soccer League. Early life and education Gurson was raised in the Chicago suburb of Buffalo Grove, Illinois. He attended Stevenson High School where he was named to the All-State team in 2009. He spent his freshman year of college at the University of Memphis then the next three years at Robert Morris University Illinois where he was a three-time All-American. Pro career Gurson began his professional career playing for Chicago in the National Soccer League, where he received the Golden Boot Award with 40 scored goals in 17 played games. After playing for one season for Chicago, Gurson signed with the Seattle Impact of the Major Arena Soccer League prior to the team's inaugural season. The United States national futsal team represents the United States at international competitions. It is governed by the United States Soccer Federation and affiliated with CONCACAF. The U.S. Futsal Federation was founded in 1981 and the first international futsal match played by the U.S. National Futsal Team was in May 1984 in Nanaimo, Canada where the United States won, 6–5. The first international futsal match in the United States was held in December, 1985, at Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park, California. The U.S. select team, defeated Australia, 9–5. The Major Arena Soccer League 2 is a North American indoor soccer league that serves as the developmental league of the Major Arena Soccer League. History M2 launched in 2017 to "provide an outlet for teams to either reorganize for a re-emergence in the MASL or an avenue for teams to compete in smaller markets in hopes of rising to MASL status." 2014–15 Seattle Impact Season
The 2014–15 Seattle Impact season was the only season of the Seattle Impact professional indoor soccer club. The Impact, a Pacific Division team in the Major Arena Soccer League, played their home games in the ShoWare Center in the Seattle suburb of Kent, Washington. The Impact were led by owner, player, and head coach Dion Earl. After struggles on and off the field, the team's assets were sold to Lane Smith and his Tacoma Stars completed the Impact's schedule. The Stars were led by general manager John Crouch and head coach Darren Sawatzky. Their season was completed with a combined 4–16 record and 5th place in the MASL's Pacific Division.
