Gordon Mackie (footballer)
Gordon John Mackie (18 July 1909 – 6 September 1983) was an Australian rules footballer who played for Carlton in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1930s. Mackie started his career in the VFA at Preston, in 1928. He was granted a clearance in Carlton in 1932, after initial refusal, but missed some early rounds as a result. Heidelberg is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, northeast of Melbourne's central business district, located within the City of Banyule local government area. Dingley Village is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 23 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Kingston local government area. Dingley Village recorded a population of 10,495 at the . History Dingley was the original name before being renamed to Dingley Village in 1991. The Preston Football Club, which trades and plays as the Northern Bullants, is a long-established Australian rules football club based in Preston, Victoria, Preston that plays in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. The 1932 VFL Grand Final was an Australian rules football game contested between the Richmond Football Club and Carlton Football Club, held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne on 1 October 1932. It was the 34th annual Grand Final of the Victorian Football League, staged to determine the premiers for the 1932 VFL season.
