Gordon L. Rottman
Gordon L. Rottman (born February 24, 1947) is an American author of mainly non-fiction, military history books. Rottman joined the United States Army Special Forces in 1967 as a non-commissioned officer. He was initially trained as a weapons specialist and took part in the Vietnam War with the 5th Special Forces Group from 1969 to 1970. In 1974, he transferred to the Texas Army National Guard where he served as an operations sergeant. In 1986 he became a part-time reservist in the United States Army Reserve, where he developed training scenarios. He later continued this activity as a freelancer for the Fort Polk, Joint Readiness Training Center at Fort Polk. Rottman has been writing military history books since 1984, initially as a part-time job, mainly for Osprey Publishing. He resides in Texas. He has written over 130 books and novels. Vietnam War
The Vietnam War (also known by #Names, other names) was a conflict in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia from 1 November 1955 to the fall of Saigon on 30 April 1975. The Texas Army National Guard is a component of the United States Army, the United States National Guard and the Texas Military Forces (along with the Texas Air National Guard and the Texas State Guard). Fort Polk is a United States Army installation located in Vernon Parish, Louisiana, about 10 miles (15 km) east of Leesville and 30 miles (50 km) north of DeRidder in Beauregard Parish.
