Google Expeditions
Google Expeditions was a virtual reality (VR) platform developed by Google and designed for educational institutions. Using Android (operating system), Android or iOS Smartphone, smartphones, the companion mobile app and head-mounted displays such as Google Cardboard or Daydream View, students (or other users) could take virtual trips to various destinations. Well-known partners included the American Museum of Natural History, National Geographic Channel, National Geographic, World Wide Fund for Nature, WWF and the National Museum of Korea. The platform was discontinued on June 30, 2021, and was merged into Google Arts & Culture. Functionality and offerings The Google Expeditions app offered a variety of virtual excursions. Tango (platform)
Tango (formerly named Project Tango, while in testing) was an augmented reality computing platform, developed and authored by the Advanced Technology and Projects (ATAP), a skunkworks division of Google. It used computer vision to enable mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets, to detect their position relative to the world around them without using GPS or other external signals. A tablet computer, commonly shortened to tablet, is a mobile device, typically with a mobile operating system and touchscreen display processing circuitry, and a rechargeable battery in a single, thin and flat package.
