''Goofyfoot'' is an EP by folk singer-songwriter Phranc, released in 1995. Recorded in Olympia, Washington with session musicians including Donna Dresch and Tobi Vail, as well as members of Satan's Pilgrims, ''Goofyfoot'' is an independent tribute to the surfer-punk ethic of the Californian coast. Phranc (born Susan Gottlieb; August 28, 1957), is an American singer-songwriter whose career began playing in several bands in the late 1970s Los Angeles punk rock scene. Donna Dresch
Donna Dresch is an American punk rock musician, perhaps best known as founder, guitarist and bass guitarist of Team Dresch. Dresch has been actively involved in the queercore scene since the 1980s, as the creator of the fanzine ''Chainsaw'' and contributor to several other zines such as '' Outpunk'' and ''J.D.s'', as well as contributing and being featured on the front cover of issue five of Deke Nihilson and Tom Jennings' zine '' Homocore''. Additionally, she was a contributor to Tobi Vail's influential proto-Riot Grrrl fanzine, ''Jigsaw'' and Tammy Rae Carland's zine ''I (heart) Amy Carter''. In 1992, she appeared in the cult film ''The Yo-Yo Gang'', by G.B. Jones. She founded the queercore independent record label Chainsaw Records in the early 1990s. Patty Schemel
Patricia Theresa Schemel (born April 24, 1967) is an American drummer and musician who rose to prominence as the drummer of alternative rock band Hole from 1992 until 1998. Born in Los Angeles, Schemel was raised in rural Marysville, Washington, where she developed an interest in punk rock music as a teenager. She began drumming at age eleven, and while in high school, formed several bands with her brother, Larry. Schemel was recommended as a drummer to Hole frontwoman Courtney Love by her husband, Kurt Cobain, a friend of Schemel's. She formally joined the band in 1992, and performed on their critically acclaimed second album, '' Live Through This'' (1994). On the band's third release, '' Celebrity Skin'' (1998), Schemel was replaced by a session drummer after its producer, Michael Beinhorn, convinced Love that Schemel was unable to adequately perform during their recording sessions. ''Positively Phranc'' is an album by the American musician Phranc, released in 1991. Phranc promoted the album by touring with Morrissey. Phranc was dropped by Island Records after the album's release. Production "Gertrude Stein" is Phranc's cover version of Jonathan Richman's "Pablo Picasso"; D.J. Bonebrake played drums on the song. ''Milkman'' is an album by the folk singer-songwriter Phranc, released in 1998. It was her first album in seven years; she had spent several years putting on her Neil Diamond tribute act, Hot August Phranc. The album was nominated for a GLAAD Media Award, in the "Outstanding Music - Album" category. Production "Gary" is a song about Phranc's brother, who was murdered in 1991. "Ozzie and Harriet" tells of a one-on-one faltering relationship. "Tzena, Tzena" is sung in Yiddish. The album title references Phranc's fondness for regularly wearing a milkman's uniform. Kill Rock Stars
Kill Rock Stars is an independent record label founded in 1991 by Slim Moon and Tinuviel Sampson, and based in both Olympia, Washington, and Portland, Oregon. The label has released a variety of work in different genres, but was originally known for its commitment to underground punk rock bands and the Olympia area music scene. History Sampson and Moon initially started the label because, in Moon's words, "I just wanted to put out my friends' records because nobody was putting out my friends' records. And to put out spoken word 7-inch records." KRS-101 (the label's first release) was in fact a split 7-inch spoken-word record with Kathleen Hanna and Slim Moon; other "Wordcore" releases followed. Carol Chen Wan-hui (; born 11 September 1974) is a Taiwanese politician. Early life, education, and career Chen was born on 11 September 1974. She is also known by the English name Carol Chen. After completing an Executive Master of Business Administration degree at National Chengchi University, she served as secretary-general of the Financial Literacy and Education Association. Political career In 2019, Chen joined the newly founded Taiwan People's Party, and was ranked ninth on the party list for proportional representation. Although she was not elected to the Legislative Yuan during the 2020 legislative election, the TPP named Chen director of its legislative caucus office. She retained the post after accepting the party's nomination for the Yilan County magistracy in July 2022. Gregory Calbi (born April 3, 1949) is an American mastering engineer at Sterling Sound, New Jersey. Biography Greg Calbi was born on April 3, 1949, in Yonkers, New York, and raised in Bayside, Queens, New York. He graduated in 1966 from Bishop Reilly High School in Fresh Meadows. Calbi earned his bachelor's degree in Mass Communications at Fordham University where he studied with Marshall McLuhan and his staff for 3 of those years. He then earned his master's degree in Political Media Studies (Speech Department) at the University of Massachusetts.
