Goodbye Is Forever (song)
"Goodbye Is Forever" is the second single released by the Duran Duran offshoot band, Arcadia. The song achieved success only in the United States, peaking at number 33 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart in March, 1986. It also was released by Capitol Records in January 1986 in many regions around the world except the UK. The B-side of ''Goodbye Is Forever'' was the mid-tempo ballad "Missing" which was released only as a promo track in the U.S and Canada. Music video A video was made for both the A-side and B-side. The video for "Goodbye is Forever" was directed by Marcello Anciano and featured Simon and Nick as figures "stranded in time", almost like two characters out of Samuel Beckett. They actually appear to be trapped within the elaborate mechanisms of a giant cuckoo clock whilst sitting on chairs that move along a circular railroad-guard. Arcadia (band)
Arcadia were a new wave British group formed in 1985 by Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, and Roger Taylor of Duran Duran as a side project during a break in the band's schedule. The project was active only during 1985 and 1986 and for just one album, ''So Red the Rose'', which was certified Platinum in the United States and included the singles "Election Day", " Goodbye Is Forever", " The Flame", and " The Promise" (featuring David Gilmour and Sting). Drummer Roger Taylor appeared in only a few band photographs and one music video ("Election Day"), and stated he was to be involved only in the recording side of the project (he also had minor involvement in The Power Station, the other Duran Duran splinter group, formed by Duran Duran's Andy and John Taylor alongside Robert Palmer and Tony Thompson of Chic). François Kevorkian (born 10 January 1954), also known by the stage name François K, is a French-born, U.S.-based DJ, producer, remixer and label owner of Armenian descent, who started his career DJing in clubs such as the Paradise Garage and Studio 54. It was released in December 1988 as the second single from the '' Big Thing'' album and reached No. 9 on the UK Singles Chart and No. 22 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 in the United States. Dean Chamberlain
Dean Chamberlain is a photographer who specializes in unique lighting effects and extended exposure times. Famous models for his pictures sit for up to five hours as he leaves the camera shutter open and "paints" the space around them with carried and projected lights of various colors and shapes, creating luminous and colorful images. His technique was described by one of his exhibitions as "Painting With Light Through Time and Space." Chamberlain served as Artist in Residence at Dartmouth College in 1989. In 1994 his work appeared in ''Nervous Landscapes'', a book which accompanied an exhibition at the Southeast Museum of Photography. He co-founded the Light Space Gallery in Venice, California in 2001, and serves as its co-director.
