Goodbye, Sarah Jane Smith
''Goodbye, Sarah Jane Smith'' is the sixth and final serial of the fourth series of the British science fiction television series ''The Sarah Jane Adventures''. It first aired in two parts on CBBC on 15 and 16 November 2010. It is the last story to feature John Leeson as the voice of K9, and , the last to feature the character in any televised media. Plot Part 1 The story starts off with Mr Smith telling Sarah Jane that a meteor is heading towards Earth. Sarah Jane, Rani and Clyde travel to the meteor landing site to stop germs from escaping. Just as Rani is about to deactivate it, another woman destroys the germs with similar equipment. The mysterious woman exclaims that she is "saving the world", and runs off. The team chase after her but she escapes, after which Clyde says to Sarah Jane, "She's exactly like you." Elisabeth Sladen
Elisabeth Clara Heath-Sladen (1 February 1946 – 19 April 2011) was an English actress. She became best known as Sarah Jane Smith in the British television series ''Doctor Who'', appearing as a regular cast member from 1973 to 1976, alongside both Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker, and reprising the role many times in subsequent decades, both on ''Doctor Who'' and its spin-offs, ''K-9 and Company'' (1981) and ''The Sarah Jane Adventures'' (2007–2011). Sladen was interested in ballet and theatre from childhood, and began to appear on stage in the mid-1960s, although she was more often a stage manager at this time. She moved to London in 1970 and won several television roles, with her acting in the police drama ''Z-Cars'' leading to her being recommended for the role in ''Doctor Who''. After leaving the series, she had other roles on both television and radio before semi-retiring to bring up a family in the mid-1980s. Gareth John Pritchard Roberts (born 5 June 1968) is a British television screenwriter and novelist, best known for his work related to the science-fiction television series ''Doctor Who''. He has also worked on various comedy series and soap operas. Early life Roberts studied drama at King Alfred's College (now the University of Winchester) and Liverpool Polytechnic (now Liverpool John Moores University). He has also worked as a clerk at the Court of Appeal. Career Roberts has worked on some of the most popular British soap operas, including Channel 4's now-defunct ''Brookside'' as a scriptwriter (1999–2003), and as a story associate on ITV's ''Coronation Street'' in 1997. ''The Sarah Jane Adventures'' is a British science fiction television programme that was produced by BBC Cymru Wales for CBBC, created by Russell T Davies, and starring Elisabeth Sladen.
