Good For Grapes
Good for Grapes is a Pacific Northwest indie-folk band based in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. The band consists of Daniel McBurnie (vocals, acoustic guitar), Graham Gomez (electric guitar, vocals), Alexa Unwin (piano, vocals), Robert Hardie (bass, vocals), Alex Hauka (cello), Gregory McLeod (trombone and violin) and Will Watson (drums). Their first self-titled EP, ''Good for Grapes'' was released on iTunes Canada on April 15, 2011. They have won both the Rogers urMusic Battle of the Bands, and Supernova's 'Band on the Run to the UK.' Career The band was formed when a group of friends were traveling by ferry to busk in Victoria, British Columbia, on Vancouver Island. They drew crowds while freestyling on the ferry deck and decided that they should pursue the project. Months later they had produced their first EP and started playing small, local gigs. Canada's Got Talent
''Canada's Got Talent'' is a Canadian television reality talent show, which debuted on the Citytv network on March 4, 2012. It is part of the global ''Got Talent'' franchise. As with other series in the franchise, the show is a competition in which entertainers in various fields compete to win a prize. In the first season, the winner won a prize of $100,000 and a Nissan GT-R, an opportunity to perform during Citytv's New Year's Eve bash, a possibility to perform in a venue in Las Vegas and a trip to Trinidad and Tobago. Atlin Arts & Music Festival
The Atlin Arts & Music Festival (AAMF) is an annual arts and music festival directed towards families located in Atlin, British Columbia. The festival has hosted acts such as Michelle Wright, Sloan, Delhi 2 Dublin, Iskwé, Rock Plaza Central, Harpoonist & The Axe Murderer, The Olympic Symphonium, Matt Epp, and David Francey. It also hosts a visual artists as well as art and music workshops. The annual "Atlin Mini-Marathon" is held during the festival weekend. On average, 2,500 people attend every year and roughly 300 people volunteer during the festival weekend. The Yukon Ski Patrol provides First Aid services at the festival. Every year the festival is commenced by the Taku Kwaan Dancers (People of the Taku), a group of local Taku River Tlingit traditional First Nations dancers. The Vancouver Folk Music Festival (VFMF), founded in 1978, is an outdoor multistage music festival, located at Jericho Beach Park on the west side of Vancouver, British Columbia. Mother Mother
Mother Mother is a Canadian indie rock band based in Quadra Island, British Columbia. The band consists of Ryan Guldemond on guitar and vocals, Molly Guldemond and Jasmin Parkin on vocals and keyboard, Ali Siadat on drums, and Mike Young on bass. Longtime bassist Jeremy Page left the band in 2016. In 2005, they independently released their self-titled debut album under the band name Mother. Paper Lions (formerly the Chucky Danger Band) is a Canadian indie rock band, formed and based in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. They have toured around Canada, and have released several albums, including 2016's ''Full Colour''. History In Belfast, Prince Edward Island in 2004, by singer and guitarist John MacPhee, drummer David Cyrus MacDonald, guitarist Colin Buchanan and bass guitarist Rob MacPhee formed the band Chuck Danger. The MacPhees are brothers, and Buchanan grew up next door to them. They met MacDonald in high school. Chucky Danger's debut full-length album, ''Colour'', was released in 2006.
