Good Night, Witness Light is Daphne Loves Derby's second full-length album and was released March 27, 2007. It is the last album the band has with Outlook Records for their two-album contract. Additionally, this was the last album for both Jason Call and Spencer Abbot with Daphne Loves Derby. Background The "Witness Light" phrase which appears in the album title is taken from Robert Frost's poem "The Beech:" Where my imaginary line Bends square in woods an iron spine And pile of real rocks have been founded. And off this corner in the wild, Where these are driven in and piled, One tree, by being deeply wounded, Has been impressed as Witness Tree And made commit to memory My proof of being not unbounded. Daphne Loves Derby is an American Indie rock band that formed in Kent, Washington, in 2001. They have released three studio albums, the third in 2007 titled '' Good Night, Witness Light'', peaking at number 30 on the ''Billboard'' Top Heatseekers chart. The band was featured on ''Billboard's'' official website following the release of the album. Background Much of their popularity comes from the website PureVolume, where they were the first band to a million plays. (They now have over 5,600,000 plays) For a time, they held the number one spot on PureVolume's Unsigned Artists page, but in 2005 they signed onto Outlook Music/Universal Records. Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Matt Squire (born May 7, 1976) is an American record producer, audio engineer, mixing engineer, and songwriter. His production, songwriting, and mixing credits include Underoath, Panic! at the Disco, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Kesha, One Direction, Bea Miller, Krewella, Sum 41, Simple Plan, All Time Low, Good Charlotte, 3OH!3, Boys Like Girls, The Amity Affliction, The Used, and Taking Back Sunday.
