Charles Gonthier
Charles Doherty Gonthier, (August 1, 1928 – July 16, 2009) was a Puisne judge on the Supreme Court of Canada from February 1, 1989 to August 1, 2003. He was replaced by Morris Fish. Early life Gonthier was born in Montreal, Quebec to Georges Gonthier, an accountant who was also Auditor General of Canada from 1924 to 1939, and Kathleen Doherty. Charles was the only child the two had together, although Georges Gonthier, who had been widowed, had other children from his first marriage. Kathleen's father, Charles Doherty, was a lawyer and politician who became federal Minister of Justice. Charles Gonthier, Prince of Schwarzburg-Sondershausen (german: Karl Günther, Fürst von Schwarzburg-Sondershausen; 7 August 1830 – 28 March 1909) was the ruler of the principality of Schwarzburg-Sondershausen, a constituent state of the German Empire, and head of the House of Schwarzburg from 17 July 1880 until his death. François-Pierre-Gontier de Biran (29 November 176620 July 1824), usually known as Maine de Biran (), was a French philosopher. Life Maine de Biran was born at Bergerac; died at Paris, 16 July, 1824. The name Maine he assumed (some time before 1787) from an estate called Le Maine, near Mouleydier. After studying with distinction at Périgueux, he entered the life guards of King Louis XVI of France, and was present at Versailles during the events of October 1789. Johanne Gonthier (born November 3, 1954, in Montreal, Quebec) is a former Canadian politician who served as a Member of the National Assembly of Quebec (MNA) for the riding of Mégantic-Compton from 2007 to 2012. She is the daughter of former MNA Madeleine Bélanger, who represented the same riding from 1983 to 2003. Gonthier represented the Quebec Liberal Party Prior to entering politics, Gonthier worked in public relations and marketing for 20 years and was the director of the Chambre de Commerce de la région de Mégantic (Lac-Megantic region Chamber of Commerce) from 2003 to 2007.
