Gono Bishwabidyalay
Gono University or Gono Bishwabidyalay ('' bn, গণ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়'', abbreviated as GB) is a private university in Savar, Bangladesh which was established on 14 July 1994. It is now operating their academic and administrating activity on their permanent campus at Nolam, Savar, Dhaka. It was approved by University Grants Commission (UGC) on 1998. Professor Dr. Md. Abul Hossain is the vice-chancellor of the university. History Gono University was founded by the non profit Gonoshasthaya Kendra in 1994. In December 2013, students of Gono University and its sister medical university, Gonoshasthaya Samaj Vittik Medical College, vandalized their own university and hospital over the death of a doctor of the institute in remote area of Patuakhali. Amirul Islam Chowdhury
Amirul Islam Chowdhury (born 1942) is a Bangladeshi academic. He served as the vice-chancellor of Jahangirnagar University and president of Asiatic Society of Bangladesh. He is currently a professor at the United International University. Education Chowdhury got his bachelor's and master's in economics from the University of Dhaka in 1961 and 1963 respectively. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Wales in 1979. He later worked as a post-doctoral fellow at the Jawaharlal Nehru University during 1987–88. Career Chowdhury served as a research officer at the Ministry of Finance of the Government of Pakistan during June 1964 – April 1965. Mohammad Abdur Rouf (born 1 February 1934) is a retired justice of the Bangladesh Supreme Court. He started as a practicing advocate and then became an additional judge of the High Court Division. He was then raised to Appellate Division of the court, and was later appointed as Chief Election Commissioner by the President of Bangladesh. He is currently a Shariah advisor to Fareast Islami Life Insurance Company Limited and Prime Islami Life Insurance. Tahrunnesa Abdullah
Tahrunessa Ahmed Abdullah (born 21 April 1937) is a Bangladeshi writer and activist. She is notable for her researches and contribution to an uplift in the lives of women in rural Bangladesh through her various levels of involvement with Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development. In 1978, she became the first Bangladeshi to receive the Ramon Magsaysay Award in the community leadership category. Salahuddin Ahmed is a Bangladeshi economist, civil servant, and a former governor of the Bangladesh Bank, the country's central bank. He is a professor of BRAC University. Early life and education Ahmed was born in Old Dhaka and his family were originally from Nabinagar Upazila, Brahmanbaria District. He graduated from Dhaka Collegiate School in 1963.
