Gone With The West
''Gone with the West'' is a 1975 American Western film starring James Caan and Stefanie Powers, directed by Bernard Girard. The film is also known as ''Little Moon & Jud McGraw'' in Australia and ''Little Moon and Jud McGraw'' (American reissue title). It was filmed in 1969 under the title ''Man Without Mercy'' but did not find a cinema release.p. 20 ''Motion Picture Herald'', Volume 239 Quigley Publishing Company, 1969 Plot The movie begins with a screenwriter driving out into the desert and meeting up with an old timer who spins him a tale of the Old West: Jud McGraw is a stagecoach driver who gets robbed by a gang led by Nimmo. He then gets blamed for stealing the gold. Nimmo also burns his farm and kills his wife and son. When McGraw is released from prison, he finds the town Nimmo rules. Bernard Girard
Bernard Girard (February 22, 1918 – December 30, 1997) was an American screenwriter, producer and film director. Life and career A native of Vallejo, Girard served in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II. He was nominated for an Emmy at the 9th Primetime Emmy Awards for Best Public Service Series ( You Are There). Girard died December 30, 1997, at age 79. Girard is survived by his wife, Linda, and three sons. Michael V. Lane (January 6, 1933 – June 1, 2015) was an American actor and professional wrestler. Biography Lane's size (height 6'8" or 2.03 m, weight 275 lbs or 125 kg) led him to work in the King Bros. Circus boxing tent and wrestling tent. He also wrestled professionally under the name "Tarzan Mike" in 1952–1959. While filming ''The Harder They Fall'', Lane was given dramatic and boxing lessons to appear as the giant Toro Moreno, an outclassed boxer based on Primo Carnera. James McHale is an Australian journalist and news presenter. Career McHale graduated from Murdoch University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Laws/Media, majoring in Radio. Frederick David Book (born 1905, died 1990) was an Australian rules football Business administration, administrator and City of Perth Councillor. In 1928 Book was elected Treasurer of the East Perth Football Club. Retiring in 1973 he had served the club in different roles for a total of 45 years including a record 20 years as club president. It is Book who is credited with saving Perth Oval from being acquired by the army for use as a depot. In 1956 as a tribute to his service to the club, the new grandstand was named in his honour.
