Golfe du Morbihan - Vannes Agglomération is the ''communauté d'agglomération'', an intercommunal structure, centred on the city of Vannes. It is located in the Morbihan department, in the Brittany region, northwestern France. It was created in January 2017 by the merger of the former Communauté d'agglomération Vannes Agglo with the former communautés de communes Loc'h Communauté and Presqu'île de Rhuys.Arrêté préfectoral

Vannes
Vannes (; br, Gwened) is a commune in the Morbihan department in Brittany in north-western France. It was founded over 2,000 years ago. History Celtic Era The name ''Vannes'' comes from the Veneti, a seafaring Celtic people who lived in the south-western part of Armorica in Gaul before the Roman invasions. The region seems to have been involved in a cross channel trade for thousands of years, probably using hide boats and perhaps Ferriby Boats. Wheat that apparently was grown in the Middle East was part of this trade. At about 150 BC the evidence of trade (such as Gallo-Belgic coins) with the Thames estuary area of Great Britain dramatically increased. Roman Era The Veneti were defeated by Julius Caesar's fleet in 56 BC in front of Locmariaquer; many of the Veneti were then either slaughtered or sold into slavery. Saint-Avé
Saint-Avé (; br, Sant-Teve) is a commune in the Morbihan department of Brittany in north-western France. It's the 8th most populated commune of the Morbihan department and the 32nd of the Brittany region with its population of 11,787 inhabitants in 2018. Located just north of the bigger city of Vannes, it is part of the Gulf of Morbihan regional natural reserve. The name of the town is a francization of the Breton name ''Sant-Teve''. Ploeren
Ploeren (; br, Ploveren) is a commune in the Morbihan department of the region of Brittany in north-western France. Geography It is situated on the main express road RN165 from Nantes to Brest, adjoining the city of Vannes by the west. The village is very close to the Golfe du Morbihan, and is border by Plescop to the north, by Plougoumelen to the west, by Baden and by Arradon to the south and by Vannes to the east. Ploeren's territory is 20.44 km2, and there were 6,284 inhabitants in 2013. Map Population The population has grown very quickly over the past 50 years.
