Golf Premier League
The Golf Premier League was a franchise-based golf tournament held in Aamby Valley, India in 2013. Each franchise consisted of four golfers: one international golfer, one Indian golfer, one from one Asian tour and one from golf tour of India. Players were purchased through auctions consisting of 32 international golfers. The league was played from 7 February to 10 February 2013 and also brought the practice of daytime and nighttime golf play. Golf
Golf is a club-and-ball sport in which players use various clubs to hit balls into a series of holes on a course in as few strokes as possible. Aamby Valley City is a township developed by the Sahara India Pariwar on the outskirts of Pune, India. Construction and connectivity The city, founded in 2006, is spread over of hilly terrain in the ''Sahyadri hills'' of the Western Ghats. Ryder Cup
The Ryder Cup is a biennial men's golf competition between teams from Europe and the United States. The competition is contested every two years with the venue alternating between courses in the United States and Europe. The Ryder Cup is named after the English businessman Samuel Ryder who donated the trophy. The event is jointly administered by the PGA of America and Ryder Cup Europe, the latter a joint venture of the PGA European Tour (60%), the PGA of Great Britain and Ireland (20%), and the PGAs of Europe (20%). Originally contested between Great Britain and the United States, the first official Ryder Cup took place in the United States in 1927 at Worcester Country Club in Worcester, Massachusetts. Darren Clarke
Darren Christopher Clarke, (born 14 August 1968) is a professional golfer from Northern Ireland who currently plays on the PGA Tour Champions and has previously played on the European Tour and PGA Tour. He has won 21 tournaments worldwide on a number of golf's main tours including the European Tour, the PGA Tour, the Sunshine Tour and the Japan Golf Tour. His biggest victory came when he won the 2011 Open Championship at Royal St George's in England, his first major win after more than 20 years and 54 attempts. Clarke has also won two World Golf Championship events, most notably the 2000 WGC-Andersen Consulting Match Play Championship, when he defeated Tiger Woods in the final.
