Golf Nippon Series JT Cup
The is a professional golf tournament on the Japan Golf Tour. First played in 1963, it is one of the tour's four major championships. Since 1995, it has been held at the Tokyo Yomiuri Country Club in Inagi, Tokyo. History From its inception in 1963 to 1972 the field was limited to the winners of six important tournaments in Japan: Japan Open, Japan PGA Championship, Kansai Open, Kansai Pro Championship, Kanto Open and Kanto Pro Championship. In some years a player won two of these event and the field was reduced further, to five. It has recently been one of the season ending events on the tour with a limited field consisting of the top 30 players from the money list and that seasons tournament winners. Since 1998 the tournament has been titled the Golf Nippon Series JT Cup, under a sponsorship agreement with Japan Tobacco. 2020–21 Japan Golf Tour
The 2020–21 Japan Golf Tour was a series of professional golf tournaments organised by the Japan Golf Tour Organization. The 2020 season was originally scheduled to be played from 16 January to 6 December 2020, and comprised 25 official money events, mostly in Japan. Other than the four majors, which are played outside Japan, there was one event in Singapore and one event in South Korea; the SMBC Singapore Open which is co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour, and the Shinhan Donghae Open which is co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour and the Korean Tour. Most of the scheduled tournaments were cancelled during 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic. On 25 December 2020, the tour announced the schedule for 2021 and confirmed that it would be merged with the 2020 schedule to form the 2020–21 season. Chan Kim
Chan Kim (born March 24, 1990) is an American professional golfer who currently competes on the Japan Golf Tour. Early life Kim was born in Suwon, South Korea, but grew up in Hawaii. Amateur career Kim played his college golf at Arizona State University. He won the 2009 Pacific Coast Amateur. He was also twice winner of the Arizona Stroke Play Championship. Professional career Kim played on the Canadian Tour in 2011. He played on the Challenge Tour in 2013 and the Asian Tour in 2013 and 2014. Hiroshi Iwata
is a Japanese professional golfer who plays on the Japan Golf Tour and the Asian Tour. Iwata was born in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. He started playing golf at the age of 14, by his father's influence, who ran a local golf range and was a professional golfer on the Japan Senior Tour. Iwata played college golf at Tohoku Fukushi University. Iwata turned professional in 2004 and has played on the Japan Golf Tour since then. His first win came at the 2014 Fujisankei Classic.
