Goldin Senneby
Goldin+Senneby is the collaborative duo of artists Simon Goldin and Jakob Senneby. They have worked together under this name since 2004 and are based in Stockholm. Their collaboration started with The Port (2004–2006); a series of insertions into the online world Second Life, exhibited among other places on Artport, Whitney Museum of American Art in 2005. They are also known for the project AfterMicrosoft, in which they re-photographed the site in Sonoma valley where ''Bliss'', the default wallpaper in Windows XP, was taken. In their more recent body of work, known as Headless (2007–), they approach the sphere of offshore finance, and its production of virtual space through legal code. Looking at strategies of withdrawal and secrecy, they trace an offshore company in the Bahamas called Headless Ltd. A ghostwritten detective novel continuously narrates their investigations. Alexander Goldin
Alexander Goldin (born February 27, 1964) is an American chess grandmaster of Russian origin. Goldin had success from a young age. In 1981 he won the USSR Under-18 Championship. He was a joint winner of the Soviet Championship semifinal at Sevastopol in 1986 (a qualifier for the 1987 First League Final). Other tournament successes include winning the Philadelphia's World Open in 1998 and 2001. Goldin Finance 117, also known as China 117 Tower (Chinese: 中国117大厦), is an unfinished skyscraper in Xiqing District, Tianjin, China. The tower was topped out in 2015 at a height of 597 m (1,959 ft). It has 128 storeys above ground, with 117 of them housing hotel and commercial space, which provides the source of the building’s name. Construction began in 2008 but was twice halted, and as of December 2022, it remains unfinished and unoccupied. Goldin Finance 117 and other failed skyscraper projects in China were responsible for the government banning construction of buildings over 500 metres (1,640 feet). Stephen Charles Goldin (born February 28, 1947) is an American science fiction and fantasy author. Biography Goldin was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A graduate of UCLA with a bachelor's degree in Astronomy, he worked for the U.S. Navy as a civilian space scientist before becoming a full-time writer. He has also worked as a writer and editor for the '' San Francisco Ball'', designed and written manuals for a number of computer games, and co-taught a writing class at the California State University at Northridge.
