Goldenhorse
Goldenhorse are a pop band from New Zealand. Release Goldenhorse's debut album ''Riverhead'' was released in October 2002, to a small fanfare. But over the next 18 months various singles from the album started to be played on the radio. The band played live throughout New Zealand continuously and sales of the record climbed slowly then steadily and in August 2004 the album reached no.1 on the national charts. In 2010, Goldenhorse founding member Ben King debuted his new musical project Grand Rapids. Grand Rapids released their debut album Faintheartedness in April 2011. It was released as an exclusive limited edition vinyl through MusicHype. ''Riverhead'' is the debut studio album of New Zealand band Goldenhorse, released in October 2002. Three versions were released of this album; the original in 2002, a limited edition 2-CD version in 2003, Retrieved 15 December 2022 froDiscogs and a new edition released in 2004. The 2004 version was released to celebrate a year on the album chart and achieving double platinum sales. Riverhead reached #1 on New Zealand's RIANZ charts and has sold over 49,000 copies, being certified Platinum three times. Background and development ''Riverhead'' was largely recorded at a home studio in the rural settlement of Waiatarua, located in the Waitākere Ranges. Band member and producer Geoff Maddock noted in 2012 that the unique recording location and its tendency to be "enveloped in mist" notably influenced the album's sound. "Maybe Tomorrow" is the second single released by New Zealand band Goldenhorse from their debut triple platinum selling number-one album, '' Riverhead''. The song, written by Geoff Maddock, has a laid-back guitar based tune and is a song about how that ''"maybe tomorrow, all of your sorrow ...will fade away in the air"''. Siren Records was an independent music label based in Auckland, New Zealand formed in 2000. Goldenhorse Riverhead took the record for longest climb in the album charts to the #1 position of just under 2 years, finally reaching triple platinum status with the single Maybe Tomorrow succeeding as a top 10 hit and was crowned 2003's Most Played Song On Radio at the NZ Music Awards. Dame Hinewehi Mohi (born 1964) is a New Zealand musician and producer, best known for her double-platinum album ''Oceania'' (1999) and its lead single " Kotahitanga (Union)", performing the New Zealand National Anthem in Māori during the 1999 Rugby World Cup, and as a producer for the 2019 Māori language compilation album ''Waiata / Anthems''. As a television producer, Mohi has worked to produce television programmes such as ''Mōteatea'' and ''Marae DIY''. Che Kuo Eruera Ness (born 1974), better known by his stage name Che Fu, is a New Zealand hip hop, R&B and reggae artist, songwriter and producer. A founding member of the band Supergroove, as a solo artist he has gone on to sell thousands of albums both in New Zealand and internationally. The Mutton Birds were a New Zealand rock music group formed in Auckland in 1991 by Ross Burge, David Long and Don McGlashan, with Alan Gregg joining a year later. Four of their albums reached the top 10 on the New Zealand Albums Chart, '' The Mutton Birds'' (1992), '' Salty'' (1994), '' Envy of Angels'' (1996) and '' Rain, Steam and Speed'' (1999).
