Shōwa Day
is a public holiday in Japan held on April 29. It honors the birthday of Emperor Shōwa (Hirohito), the reigning emperor from 1926 to 1989. Shō (昭) means “shining” or “bright”, and wa (和) means “peace”, signifying the "enlightened peace" that citizens receive. Takatsuki
is a city in Osaka Prefecture, Japan. It is located in northern Osaka's Hokusetsu region. As of 2020, the city had an estimated population of 347,944 and a population density of 3,300 persons per km². The total area is 105.31 km². The city was founded on January 1, 1943, and is situated almost directly between Kyoto and Osaka. Owing to the convenience of being 13 and 15 minutes by train from these two cities respectively, the city prospered and has developed with increasing rapidity to become one of the biggest commuter towns in the area, serving both Kyoto and Osaka. Silver Week
is a new Japanese term applied to a string of consecutive holidays in September, occurring only in certain years. In 2009, the term gained popularity, referring to the unusual occurrence that year of a weekend followed by three Holidays of Japan, Japanese public holidays in September. The Golden Week (), in the People's Republic of China, is the name given to three separate 7-day or 8-day national holidays which were implemented in 2000: *Chunyun, the Golden Week around the Chinese New Year, begins in January or February. * The " National Day Golden Week" begins around October 1. is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Governor of Osaka Prefecture. He assumed office in April 2019. He has been described as a conservative. 2019 Japanese Imperial Transition
The 2019 Japanese imperial transition occurred on 30 April 2019 when the then 85-year-old Emperor Akihito of Japan abdicated from the Chrysanthemum Throne after reigning for 30 years, becoming the first Emperor of Japan to do so since 1817. This marked the end of the Heisei era and the inception of the Reiwa era, and saw numerous festivities leading up to the accession of his son and successor, Emperor Naruhito.
