Golden Valley High School is a high school located within the Merced Union High School District in the community of Merced, California, United States. The school first opened in August 1994, with its first class of seniors graduating on June 5, 1996. The current enrollment is over 1,700 students in grades 9 through 12. Buhach Colony High School is a public high school in Atwater, California, United States. Opened in 2001, the school is part of the Merced Union High School District. The school colors are black and gold, and the mascot is Thor. The name refers to the unincorporated community of Buhach, where in the 1890's Portuguese immigrant farmers who owned their land were known as the Buhach Colony. Cougar
The cougar (''Puma concolor'') is a large Felidae, cat native to the Americas.
