Golden Star de Fort-de-France is a football club in Martinique, playing in the town of Fort-de-France. It plays in Martinique's first division, the Martinique Championnat National. Golden Star was the first overseas club to win a game in the Coupe de France with its 2–1 win over US Melun in 1974. Stade (), officially the Hanseatic City of Stade (german: Hansestadt Stade, nds, Hansestadt Stood) is a city in Lower Saxony in northern Germany. Football Club de Melun is a football club located in Melun, France. As of the 2021–22 season, it competes in the Régional 2, the seventh tier of French football. History The club was founded as US Melun in 1894. In the 1970s and 1980s, the club competed mostly in the Division 3, but reached the Division 2 on two occasions, during the 1977–78 and 1987–88 seasons. The second occasion the club reached the Division 2, it was as Entente Melun-Fontainebleau 77, the club that formed from a merger in 1987 between CS Fontainebleau and US Melun. However, in 1988, the Entente split, and Melun merged with Dammarie-lès-Lys to create a new club called in Sporting Melun-Dammarie 77. The Coupe de France, formerly known as the Coupe Charles Simon, is the premier knockout cup competition in French football organized by the French Football Federation (FFF). It was first held in 1917 and is open to all amateur and professional football clubs in France, including clubs based in the overseas departments and territories. Between 1917 and 1919, the competition was called the Coupe Charles Simon, in tribute of Charles Simon, a French sportsman and the founder of the French Interfederal Committee (the ancestor of the French Football Federation), who died in 1915 while serving in World War I. The final is played at the Stade de France and the winner qualifies for the group stage of the UEFA Europa League and a place in the Trophée des Champions match. United Petrotrin Football Club was a football club from Trinidad and Tobago and a former member of the TT Pro League of Trinidad. It was dissolved in 2009. History Formed in 1980, ''Trintoc'' entered the Point Fortin Football League that same year and immediately won the League title and then entered the fourth division of the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation, which they also won in their first year. By the end of the decade Trintoc had won every title in local soccer (league champions in 1986 and 1988) and even became Caribbean champions in 1988 when they beat Seba United F.C. of Jamaica in the final. The CONCACAF Champions League, known officially as the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League for sponsorship reasons, is an annual continental club football competition organized by CONCACAF.
