Kit Hain
Kit Hain (born 15 December 1956) is a British musician, songwriter and writer. She was a member of the rock duo Marshall Hain and had a solo career as a performer and songwriter. Musical career Hain met Julian Marshall while they were pupils at Dartington Hall School, and together they formed the British pop-rock band Marshall Hain. Marshall played the keyboard, while Hain performed vocals and bass. Their 1978 single "Dancing in the City" reached No. 3 in the UK Singles Chart. However, the band split when Julian Marshall found the pressure too much. Hain's first release after the duo split was "The Joke's on You", for Harvest Records. She then signed to Deram Records and subsequently Mercury Records for several singles and albums. Hain moved to the United States in 1985 and forged a successful career as a songwriter. Peer Raben
Peer Raben (born Wilhelm Rabenbauer, 3 July 1940 – 21 January 2007) was a German composer who worked with German filmmaker Rainer Werner Fassbinder. Life Raben was born in Viechtafell, Bavaria, and attended Musische Gymnasium Straubing. He died of cancer in Mitterfels, Bavaria, Germany. Career In 1966, Raben, together with several others, founded the Action Theatre in Munich, which led to the Anti Theatre in 1968, where he was active as writer, composer and director. In 1969 and 1970 he produced Fassbinder’s first films. After working on a film of his own (''Die Ahnfrau''), he concentrated on composing for theatre and films. ''Querelle'' is a 1982 West German-French English-language arthouse film directed by Rainer Werner Fassbinder and starring Brad Davis, adapted from French author Jean Genet's 1947 novel ''Querelle of Brest''. It was Fassbinder's last film, released shortly after his sudden death in June 1982. Plot The plot centers on the handsome Belgian sailor Georges Querelle, who is also a thief and murderer. When his ship, ''Le Vengeur'', arrives in Brest, he visits the ''Feria'', a bar and brothel for sailors run by the Madame Lysiane, whose lover, Robert, is Querelle's brother. Roger Voudouris
John Roger Voudouris (December 29, 1954 – August 3, 2003) was an American singer-songwriter/guitarist best known for his 1979 hit, " Get Used to It". Voudouris was born in Sacramento, California and formed Roger Voudouris' Loud as Hell Rockers while still attending C.K. McClatchy High School, entering regular performances at the Elegant Barn Nightclub. That band would later enjoy small success while performing as an opening act for The Doobie Brothers, Stephen Stills, and John Mayall. Voudouris also performed in Voudouris/Kahne with David Kahne, prior to being signed by Warner Bros. Records as a solo act. His first solo album was the self-titled ''Roger Voudouris'' released in 1978; it received little interest from radio or other media. However, his second album '' Radio Dream'' contained the pop hit "Get Used to It" which peaked at No. 21 in June 1979 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and reached No. 4 in Australia. Charles Calello
Charles Calello (born August 24, 1938) is an American arranger, composer, conductor, record producer, and singer born in Newark, New Jersey. Calello attended Newark Arts High School and the Manhattan School of Music, in New York City. His track record of successfully collaborating with various artists to produce or arrange Billboard hit songs led to his nickname in the industry as the "Hit Man." In the late 1950s, Calello was a member of Frankie Valli's group The Four Lovers, but left before the group was transformed into The Four Seasons. In 1962, he became the group's musical arranger. In 1965, he joined the Four Seasons' lineup as bassist, replacing Nick Massi (who was Calello's replacement in The Four Lovers five years earlier). Calello departed the group, becoming a staff arranger/producer at Columbia Records. ''The Lonely Lady'' is a 1983 American drama film directed by Peter Sasdy, adapted from Harold Robbins' 1976 novel of the same name, believed to have been based on Robbins' memories of Jacqueline Susann. The 4th Golden Raspberry Awards were held on April 8, 1984, at Third Street Elementary School in Los Angeles, California, to recognize the worst the movie industry had to offer in 1983. Amy Irving, nominated for worst supporting actress for her performance in '' Yentl'', also received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for the same performance in 1984. Irving became the second person, after supporting actor James Coco in 1982, to be nominated for a Razzie and Oscar for the same work, a feat not repeated until Glenn Close in 2021. ''Monsignor'' is a 1982 American drama film directed by Frank Perry about a Roman Catholic priest's rise through the ranks of the Vatican, during and after World War II. Along the way, he involves the Vatican in the black marketeering operations of a Mafia don, and has an affair with a woman in the postulant stage of becoming a nun. He eventually repents and returns to his faith, attempting to make right the things he has done wrong.
