Gojak Hydroelectric Power Plant
Gojak Hydroelectric Power Plant is a hydroelectric power plant on river Dobra, near the town of Ogulin, in Karlovac County, Croatia. Its total capacity is 55.5 MW. The Gojak Hydroelectric Power Plant is a high pressure diversion plant which harnesses the river power of the Ogulinska Dobra and Zagorska Mrežnica rivers. It is operated by the Croatian state-owned electrical company, Hrvatska elektroprivreda. Another lake is formed by the river Dobra just before it plunges into Đula's abyss. Namely, somewhere around one kilometer away from the center of Ogulin, a dam was built on the river Dobra, and in this way another artificial lake, Bukovnik, was created. From that lake, water is drained through channels up to 30 kilometers long to the Gojak Hydroelectric Power Station, where we use it to obtain electricity. The Dobra () is a river located mostly in the Karlovac County in the Republic of Croatia. It is long and its basin covers an area of . Its name is the feminine form of the Croatian adjective meaning "good" but it is over simplistic folk etymology. The river name probably comes from the Celtic , meaning ‘water’, Illyrian δυβρις () ‘deep’ or Old Slavonic dъbrь (, ) also ‘deep’ or ‘valley’. Dobra rises in Gorski Kotar near Skrad and Ravna Gora, where it flows first to the north and then turns to the east. It flows past Vrbovsko, to the southeast into the city of Ogulin, where it becomes an underground stream. It takes a sharp northward turn and rises back to the surface north of Ogulin. It continues to the northeast, past the Lešće spa and a hydroelectric plant (built and in test operation ), running in parallel to the Kupa and Mrežnica, and finally flows into the Kupa north of Karlovac. Ogulin
Ogulin () is a town in north-western Croatia, in Karlovac County. It has a population of 7,389 (2021) (it was 8,216 in 2011), and a total municipal population of 12,251 (2021). Ogulin is known for its historic stone castle, known as Kula, and the nearby mountain of Klek. Toponymy There are several proposed etymologies for the name of Ogulin. Firstly that the surrounding woods needed to be cleared for a better defence of the town, so Ogulin received its name because of the resulting bare area ("ogolio" in Croatian) around it. There were a lot of lime-trees along the road from Ogulin towards Oštarije, and the people used to peel the bark, in order to get bass. It is suggested that Ogulin got its name from the verb to peel ("guliti" in Croatian). Neither proposal is historically confirmed. Karlovac County
Karlovac County ( hr, Karlovačka županija) is a county in central Croatia, with the administrative center in Karlovac. The city of Karlovac is a fort from the times of the Military Frontier. Ozalj Hydroelectric Power Plant is a hydroelectric power plant on river Kupa, in its central stretch, in town of Ozalj, Karlovac County, Croatia. Lešće ( sr-Cyr, Лешће) is an urban neighborhood of Belgrade, the capital of Serbia and one of the city's largest cemeteries. Location Lešće is located in Belgrade's municipality of Palilula, with the small, southeastern part belonging to the municipality of Zvezdara.
