Goiás Esporte Clube is a Brazilian sports club, best known for its association football team, located in the city of Goiânia, capital city of the Brazilian state of Goiás. Goiás has won Brazilian's second tier Série B twice, also 28 Campeonato Goiano and 3 Copa Centro-Oeste. Goiás' football team has been a mainstay in premiere Brazilian league Série A and has been promoted to Latin America's Copa Libertadores twice and South America's Copa Sudamericana six times. Its main rivals are Vila Nova, Atlético Goianiense and Goiânia. Goiás has a wide advantage in matches between the two teams. Estádio Hailé Pinheiro, better known as Estádio da Serrinha, is a multi-use stadium located in Goiânia, Brazil. It is used mostly for football matches and hosts the home matches of Goiás Esporte Clube. The stadium has currently a maximum capacity of 14,450 people. History The stadium had originally a capacity for 6,403 people. Estádio da Serrinha was one of the venues of the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup. Expansion In February 2019 Goiás started expanding the stadium with the construction of a new terrace behind one of the goalposts, raising the capacity to 12,500 people. Goiânia Esporte Clube, or Goiânia as they are usually called, are a Brazilian football team from Goiânia in Goiás state, founded on July 5, 1938. Their home stadium is the Olímpico Pedro Ludovico, which has a maximum capacity of 10,000 people. They play in black and white shirts, white shorts and black socks. Goiânia competed several times in the Série A. The club has the fourth largest fan base in the state. History Goiânia Esporte Clube were founded on July 5, 1938, and it is the oldest club of the state of Goiás. The club won the Campeonato Goiano in 1945, 1946, 1948, 1950, 1951, 1952, 1953, 1954, 1956, 1958, 1959, 1960, 1968 and 1974. Magno José da Silva (born 6 January 1993), commonly known as Maguinho is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays for Brazilian club Goiás as a right back. Club career Born in Dores do Turvo, Maguinho made his senior debut with Tupi at the age of 16 and became the youngest player ever to play for the club. The 2010 Copa Sudamericana de Clubes (officially the 2010 Copa Nissan Sudamericana de Clubes for sponsorship reasons) was the 9th edition of CONMEBOL's secondary international club tournament. The Copa do Brasil 1990 was the 2nd staging of the Copa do Brasil. The Copa do Brasil ( en, Brazil Cup) is a knockout football competition played by 92 teams, representing all 26 Brazilian states plus the Federal District. It is the Brazilian domestic cup and the Brazilian equivalent of the FA Cup, Taça de Portugal, Copa del Rey, Scottish Cup and Copa Argentina. Estádio Serra Dourada is a football stadium inaugurated on March 9, 1975 in Goiânia, Goiás, Brazil. It was designed by the Pritzker Prize-winning Brazilian architect Paulo Mendes da Rocha. The stadium is owned by the Goiás state Government, and is the home ground of Goiás Esporte Clube.
