Going Places (Australian TV Series)
''Going Places'' was an Australian television series broadcast by the Nine Network in late 2007. It consisted of 8 half-hour-long episodes. Australian actor Sue McIntosh narrated the series, while her husband, John McIntosh, produced. Overview The series goes behind the scenes at Australian airline Jetstar as it moves into the highly competitive international market. The focus is on the people who make the airline tick, in particular cabin crew. It is similar to the British show ''Airline'' and its American counterpart, which also follow low cost airlines. Sue McIntosh
Sue McIntosh (née Menlove; born 1946) is an Australian television actress, presenter and journalist. Career During the 1960s and 1970s, McIntosh was an actress who worked in British and Australian television. Her early credits include a 1965 episode of ''The Benny Hill Show'' from its run on BBC Television, ''Where the Bullets Fly'' (1966) and hosting the children's show '' Adventure Island'' from 1969 to 1972. In the 1970s she also featured on ''The Paul Hogan Show'', ''The Graham Kennedy Show'', ''The Ernie Sigley Show'', ''The Don Lane Show'', ''The Mike Walsh Show'' and ''The Ted Hamilton Show''. Later she was the host of ''Take 5'' and ''You Me and Education''. Nine Network
The Nine Network (stylised 9Network, commonly known as Channel Nine or simply Nine) is an Australian commercial free-to-air television network. It is owned by parent company Nine Entertainment and is one of five main free-to-air television networks in Australia. From 2017 to 2021, the network's slogan has been "We Are the One". Jetstar
Jetstar Airways Pty Ltd, operating as Jetstar, is an Australian low-cost airline (self-described as "value-based") headquartered in Melbourne. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Qantas, created in response to the threat posed by airline Virgin Blue. Jetstar is part of Qantas' two brand strategy of having Qantas Airways for the premium full-service market and Jetstar for the low-cost market. Jetstar carries 8.5% of all passengers travelling in and out of Australia. The airline operates an extensive domestic network as well as regional and international services from its main base at Melbourne Airport, using a mixed fleet of the Airbus A320 family and the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. ''Airline'' is a British fly on the wall television programme produced by LWT that showcases the daily happenings of passengers, ground workers and flight crew of Britannia Airways (series 1) and later EasyJet (from series 2). The show was broadcast between March 1998 and January 2007 on ITV, was often repeated on ITV2 and aired in syndication on Pick (previously known as Sky Three and Pick TV), Sky Real Lives and, as of 4 February 2019, CBS Reality. The programme's success sparked a US version of the series, following American low-cost airline Southwest Airlines. Production EasyJet were first approached about the possibility of filming during mid-1998, after the first series with Britannia Airways (filmed at Manchester Airport in 1997) was discontinued.
